The name Fat Emperor came from a triple-layer metaphor. Firstly, the “Emperor” represents “the Emperor’s New Clothes” fable from Hans Christian Anderson – which in turn represents the researchers over the decades who had to turn a blind eye to the contradictory science demonizing fat and cholesterol.  Secondly, the “Fat” represents the explosion in obesity we have suffered through ignoring the data and turning a blind eye. Finally the “Emperor” signifies the corporate power which pulled the strings to keep the whole scenario in perpetuity.
