For years, we've heard warnings about bread, carbohydrates, grains, and even natural sweeteners like honey. We're told that bread causes inflammation, grains are bad for us, carbohydrates are the enemy, and foods like honey should be avoided if we want to be healthy.

But is the whole story being told?

In this video, we take a closer look at bread, honey, and whole grains through a biblical nutrition perspective and ask an important question:

If God created these foods, why are we being told they make us sick?

The Bible contains numerous references to grains, bread, wheat, honey, fruits, seeds, and other foods. Bread was a staple food throughout biblical times, grains were harvested and eaten, and honey was repeatedly described as a valuable and desirable food.

But there's an important distinction we need to make.

Not all bread is the same. Not all grains are the same. And the way a food is grown, processed, prepared, and consumed can dramatically change its nutritional qualities.

Modern food production has transformed many traditional foods. Today, much of the bread available in grocery stores is made from highly refined flour and may contain added sugars, refined oils, preservatives, emulsifiers, and other ingredients. Whole grains, on the other hand, contain the bran, germ, and endosperm and provide fiber, vitamins, minerals, and other beneficial compounds.
