The arrest of Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) leader and former Dharapuram by-election candidate M. Karthika has triggered a political controversy in Tamil Nadu. Karthika and her husband were arrested in Coimbatore on October 20 in connection with cases registered during the Dharapuram by-election campaign.
