Wednesday Q&A - Hypermobility, Ideal Movement Schedules, & Frozen Shoulder
Welcome to Wednesday Q&A, where you ask questions and we answer them!
In this episode, Lara and Kristin answer your questions about joint stability, weekly movement routines, and shoulder health. Listen to hear them dig into what's really happening when hypermobile joints "pop," share their own personal movement schedules, and offer guidance for anyone dealing with the early stages of a frozen shoulder.
Your Questions:
- Happy to hear you are bringing the podcast back. Here's my question. I have a hypermobile body. I often battle tight hips and a stiff lower back while balancing CrossFit, running, and LYT. I’ve noticed a painless, crunchy pop right at L4 specifically when stepping or pressing up into Warrior poses. Since hypermobile bodies tend to 'hang out' in the joints, is this L4 popping a sign that my tight hips are forcing a micro-instability in my lumbar spine during wide-stance transitions? How can I use the LYT method to ground my pelvis better so my lower back doesn't take the hit? Thank you for always pulling for us.
- What is your ideal movement schedule look like? It seems like you’re in shape and have only gotten more fit over the years. I’ve been following you.
- I have the beginning of a frozen shoulder, but haven’t received any advice from professionals, including my doctor. What advice would you give me to avoid it getting worse?
