Mary welcomes back Israel expert Jim Fletcher to help us both celebrate and articulate what it means that this regathered nation is 77 years old this week. Today we talk about some significant prophecies in Ezekiel and Amos, and the absolute promises of God to regather and redeem Israel. For what purpose? Not only for His good pleasure, that His people are the apple of His eye, but for the reasons stated in Ezekiel 37: "That they may know...." There are 58 such mentions from Ezekiel 34-39 alone. It's for HIS Name's sake. Then we look at the Cyrus Cylinder and archaeology as apologetic. Who wrote Isaiah? If you have to ask, we will give an answer. Finally, we answer the the question, "What is Israel?" If churches won't teach prophecy because of a few who mishandle it, they could at least teach God's plan for Israel of the ages, which should build our faith. As Psalm 102:16 tells us, "For the Lord shall build up Zion; He shall appear in His glory." Or hoping that the pictures you click on will pass the test? This system is actually called CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing Test to tell Computers and Humans Apart). It is a computing test to determine if the user is human. It is sometimes called the reverse Turing test, as the point is to prove humanity rather than artificial intelligence. I for one believe that the burden of proof is on the Artificial Lifeform to come forth and identify themselves. Today we talk about that alternate reality that is the internet. Patrick Wood has for some time now said that reality barely exists anyway, so we will look at what that means. We also look at Canadian elections; the Pope as Muslim apologist; an update on the Temple Mount; catastrophic AI; Facial Recognition perils; and the need to find HOPE in all of it. Dr. JB Hixson Mary welcomes back JB Hixson on this Good Friday to talk about the importance of clinging to the cross in living out our day to day faith. When Jesus gave up His spirit, the veil in the temple was torn in two. This was no window curtain, it was at least 60 feet high and 4" thick - and separated the common area of the Temple from the Holy of Holies accessible only by the High Priest. The symbolism is simple: through the rending of the flesh of our Saviour, we now have access by grace to God through Jesus. What a glorious truth. This also means that we can not rely on ritual, tradition, or works to draw near to God, we are now bondsmen of Christ. So, once we understand that, what would the life of the believer look like? What should the church look like not just in our day to day service to God but corporately? Has the church become distracted by far too many bells, whistles, and sound systems? Are we still connected to the Head? The daily life of confession, repentance, cleansing and faith, minus any righteousness of our own is truly the only way to the fruitful Christian life.
