Oliver Zornow joins Mary live in the studio for a conversation on Haiti. Oliver is fresh from his win for a seat on the Appleton School Board. We talk local politics and American schools. And yet his greatest work is in poverty and violence stricken Haiti, where any child would love to get a solid Christian education and rise above their circumstances to have some way to contribute to the world at large, even if it's to make their own country a bit better. Haiti has a complex history, one of slavery, overthrow, corruption, and natural disasters. The International community hasn't been much help all in all, but is it time to step in? Violence and gang warfare has made that nation nearly uninhabitable yet God is at work.Oliver is a husband and father of two elementary school students and a local nonprofit leader in the Fox Cities. He is active in educational issues locally and around the world. He is a co-founder of the Caneille Regional Development Fund (CRDF). CRDF was the result of a high school project where Oliver built a partnership with a local church in Caneille, Haiti to found The School of Grace of Caneille. Through support from individuals, churches, and organizations around the globe, the School of Grace has provided life changing, tuition-free primary education to thousands of students in this rural region over the last two decades. More information on how the work and how to support it can be found here.  Pray for the pastors in Haiti, including Calvary Chapel Caneille under the courageous and godly leadership of Huguener Bastia.
