Recap: The Golden Knights were hoping to snap their losing skid with a victory in Chicago. Vegas’ Brandon Saad opened up the scoring against his old team with his second goal of the season. Minutes later the Blackhawks evened the score. After the opening 20 minutes the game was tied 1-1. The Golden Knights took an immediate lead :43 into the middle frame. Captain Mark Stone picked up his 12th goal of 2025-26, giving his team a 2-1 edge. Chicago tied the game scoring the only goal of the final period to force overtime. The Blackhawks scored early on 3-on-3 to pick up the two points. The Golden Knights record drops to 17-11-12 falling to the Blackhawks 3-2 in OT. They didn’t look dangerous most of the night and it got really bad in the 3rd period as they tried to hold the lead. Didn’t land a shot for the first half of the period, wasn’t particularly pretty in the defensive zone either. Eventually, they bent enough that they broke and then never possessed the puck in OT. Terrible loss considering it was a B2B for Chicago, it was Dad’s Trip, and the Hawks are without their only two good players… and their good goalie didn’t play. Recap: The Golden Knights were hoping to build off Tuesday’s win with a victory over the top seeded Colorado Avalanche. Quickly into the opening twenty minutes Alex Holtz gave Vegas a 1-0 lead, scoring his first goal of the season. Ivan Barbashev doubled Vegas’ lead :34 into the middle frame. The Avalanche began to heat up rattling off two straight goals, but Vegas returned the favor. First Ben Hutton regained the Golden Knights lead, and Brett Howden doubled their lead less than a minute later. After 40 minutes, Vegas held a 4-2 advantage. Colorado quickly got within one in the final frame and tied it 4-4 minutes later. Late in the frame Colton Sissons regained VGK’s one goal lead. The Avalanche scored again to send the game into overtime. Eventually Colorado won the game in a shootout. The Golden Knights record drops to 17-8-11 falling to the Colorado Avalanche 6-5 in SO. Despite being down three of their most important skaters and their starting goalie, they stuck to the gameplan they’ve used for a long time against the Avalanche and it worked like a charm… for the most part. They played with incredibly strong sticks and great gaps at the blue line which left the Avs struggling to enter the zone. Eventually, there were turnovers and VGK capitalized on just about every chance they got on goal. Unfortunately, there was a lot of really bad luck which is awfully difficult to overcome against Colorado. Incredibly impressive effort against a team that very well may end the season with the best record in the history of the NHL. Recap: In the second of a two game road trip the Golden Knights headed north to frigid Edmonton. The Oilers came out flying scoring twice in the 1st period including a Connor McDavid wondergoal. The Golden Knights had three power play opportunities but couldn’t capitalize on any of them. The Oilers continued the onslaught in the 2nd period scoring a couple more meaning Vegas found itself in a 4-goal hole for the second straight night. Tomas Hertl was able find the back of the net on the power play to cut the deficit to three. The 2nd period would end 4-1. VGK came roaring back in the 3rd period starting with another power play goal, this time from Pavel Dorofeyev. Then, when Bruce Cassidy stuck Mitch Marner, Mark Stone, and Hertl together, they were all over the Oilers and Marner eventually stuck in Vegas’ 3rd goal. They looked dangerous all the way until the final horn but couldn’t find the equalizer. The Golden Knights’ record drops to 16-8-10 falling to the Oilers 4-3 in Edmonton. Next up, the Golden Knights are coming home for the holidays. The first of a four game homestand against the Sharks on Tuesday. Puck drop is at 7 PM. (Recap by Ken) Analysis: For the first half of the game it looked like the two-time defending Western Conference Champions were toying with a Golden Knights team missing two of its best players. EDM’s PP struck a few times, they were all over VGK at 5-on-5 and the Golden Knights appeared dead in the water. Then, the tide turned and the Golden Knights took over. Their execution turned up a ton and they got right back in it. They couldn’t find the game-tying goal but if the game lasted a few more minutes they probably would have, because they were buzzing. Recap: The Golden Knights were looking to wrap up their road trip with a victory in Columbus over the Blue Jackets. Columbus jumped out first with a goal seven minutes into the opening frame. After twenty minutes the home team held a 1-0 edge. Immediately in the middle frame, the Golden Knights were awarded a power play opportunity which Pavel Dorofeyev took advantage of. Dorofeyev tied the game, scoring his 13th goal of the season. The game was locked in a 1-1 tie after two periods of action. Five minutes into the final period the Blue Jackets regained their one goal lead. The Golden Knights answered right back with a goal from defenseman Ben Hutton. Late in the period, Brayden McNabb snapped the tie and gave Vegas a 3-2 advantage. Vegas fought off a late 6-on-4 to complete their victory. The Golden Knights record improves to 16-6-9 defeating the Blue Jackets 3-2 in Columbus. Next up, Vegas will travel home and prepare for their next game on Wednesday. (Recap by Jason) Analysis: The Golden Knights looked a lot like a team at the end of a road trip, essentially out of gas and trying to hang on. Somehow though, they battled their way through, without playing well for most of the game, and defeated a Columbus team that can’t seem to get out of its own way. The road trip ends with an incredible 4-0-1, but the play to get them there was no where near as impressive. Recap: The Golden Knights were looking to start December off on the right foot with a home victory against the Chicago Blackhawks. Vegas struck first thirty seconds into the opening period. Ivan Barbashev was awarded his 9th goal of the season but Chicago immediately answered back. After twenty minutes of action the game was locked in a 1-1 tie. Chicago snapped the 1-1 tie with an unassisted goal midway through the period. Vegas defenseman Ben Hutton evened the score 2-2 with his 3rd goal of the season. Blackhawks star Connor Bedard scored on a brilliant individual move to regain his team’s advantage. Vegas heavily pressured Chicago in the final frame and it paid off. Braeden Bowman scored his fifth goal to even the score 3-3 and force overtime. Eventually the game was decided by Vegas in a shootout where Pavel Dorofeyev and Shea Theodore scored while Carter Hart stopped three of four. The Golden Knights record improves to 12-6-8 defeating the Blackhawks 4-3 in SO. Next up, Vegas will hit the road for the next five games beginning on Friday. Puck drop against the New Jersey Devils is scheduled for 4 PM. (Recap by Jason) Analysis: This was not a particularly good game for the Golden Knights from a systems perspective. They allowed a heap of odd-man rushes, which led to Bedard’s snipe and a bundle of penalties. VGK’s offense just never really got sustained pressure and even when they did the Knight in the other goal was very good. But, they kept pushing down the stretch and found a way to get the game tied. In overtime, the Hawks were all over the Golden Knights, but Hart kept them in it with a few great stops. Theodore won it with his favorite move in shootout. Recap: The Golden Knights hosted the Ottawa Senators for a pre-Thanksgiving matchup at T-Mobile Arena. Ottawa answered quickly into the game to take a 1-0 lead. Vegas pushed back and finally got on the scoreboard with minutes remaining in the period. With seconds left Ottawa regained their two-goal advantage. Jack Eichel scored his 250th career NHL goal to get his team within one. Ottawa was awarded a late period power play opportunity which Vegas promptly killed off. In his return from injury captain Mark Stone tied the game 3-3 with a crucial power play goal. After regulation the game needed an overtime and eventually a shootout to decide a winner. The Golden Knights record drops to 10-5-8 falling to the Senators 4-3 in shootout. Next up, Vegas will welcome the Montreal Canadiens for an afternoon matchup on Black Friday. Recap: The Golden Knights began a three-game road trip in Utah to face the Mammoth. Vegas was awarded a cross-checking penalty but couldn’t convert their opportunity into a goal. After 20 minutes, the game was locked in a scoreless tie. Vegas came out hot to start the middle frame. First, Jack Eichel opened the scoring 3:09 into the period, and Ben Hutton followed 19 seconds later. The Mammoth cut the Golden Knights’ lead in half but Eichel regained VGK’s two-goal advantage. 45 seconds into the final 20 minutes, Braeden Bowman scored his third career goal, giving his club a 4-1 lead. The Golden Knights’ record improves to 10-4-6 defeating the Mammoth 4-1 in Utah. Next, up Vegas will take a short flight to Anaheim before returning back to Utah for another game with the Mammoth.
