According to multiple reports, first reported by TSN’s Darren Dreger, the Golden Knights have acquired defenseman Rasmus Andersson in exchange for Zach Whitecloud, 2027 1st round pick, 2028 2nd round pick (which turns into a 1st round pick if VGK win the 2026 Stanley Cup), and prospect Abram Wiebe. 50% of Andersson’s salary is being retained by the Flames.
Andersson is a pending free agent and the deal reportedly does not include a contract extension at this time.

Rasmus Andersson, acquired by VGK, is an offensive defenceman who can carry the puck up-ice and defend the net-front. Tools are good, production is good, underlying numbers haven't been so great. Has in past struggled defending the rush and making clean plays out of the zone. pic.twitter.com/oAWS4EElNv
