Kevin Collins: The Last Walk Home

On February 10, 1984, 10-year-old Kevin Collins left basketball practice in San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury neighborhood and began the short walk to the public bus stop. Witnesses recalled seeing him speaking with a tall man with a large dog, and then he was gone. Despite a massive search in the San Francisco area, with his face plastered on milk cartons and the cover of Newsweek, no physical trace of Kevin was ever found. A convicted child predator was questioned by police in 1984 but released after witnesses failed to identify him in a lineup. No one has ever been prosecuted for Kevin's disappearance. On the morning of June 1, 1987, 16-year-old Theresa Ann Bier left her uncle's home in Fresno, California, dressed for school. Instead, she went on a camping trip with a 43-year-old friend of her uncle's in the Sierra Nevada Mountains to search for Bigfoot. When the man resurfaced in Fresno days later without Theresa, he said she had wandered off into the woods. He then offered an account stranger than anyone expected. Detectives found holes in his story almost immediately, but after a few attempts to comb the rugged wilderness, no trace of Theresa was ever recovered. Without a body, prosecutors could never bring him to trial. On the afternoon of August 12th, 2013, 25-year-old Tiffany Daniels clocked out of work seventeen minutes early, crossed the bridge from Pensacola to Santa Rosa Island, and was never seen again. Her car was found eight days later on the west end of the island, unlocked, with her ID and phone still inside. No note. No witnesses. No trace of where she went after she parked.
