One thing we notice very often in our Luxembourgish classes:

Many learners can answer questions perfectly well…

…but after 2 sentences, the conversation dies šŸ˜…

Beispill:

ā€œWar dƤi Weekend flott?ā€

ā€œJo. An dƤin?ā€

ā€œMajo, och flott.ā€

And then …… silence.

The problem is usually not grammar.

It’s that many learners were taught how to ANSWER questions but not how to KEEP a conversation going.

One small thing can change everything:

šŸ‘‰ Ask follow-up questions.

Instead of:

ā€œWar dƤi Weekend flott?ā€

try:

ā€œWat hues du de Weekend gemaach?ā€

or

ā€œWĆ©i war dƤi Weekend?ā€

Suddenly, the conversation becomes much more natural.

This is actually one of the most important speaking skills:

not only knowing Luxembourgish… but knowing how to continue the interaction naturally.

I talk about this in the newest podcast episode and share simple ways to make conversations flow more naturally in Luxembourgish šŸŽ§
