The Blue Jays would eventually tie the game in the 8th inning on a sac fly. After neither team scored in the first inning of extra innings. George Springer would give the Blue Jays a 2-1 lead with 2 outs and 2 strikes in the 11th inning. The Tampa Bay Rays can't pick up the series win, losing to the Chicago Cubs 4-3. The Rays got it started with a bang in the 1st inning. The Tampa Bay Rays come back to beat the Chicago Cubs 5-4. The Rays were down 3 early, but started their comeback in the 5th inning. After the Rays scored in the 5th to make it 3-1 they would tie the game in the 6th. First it was Brandon Lowe with a RBI double to make it 3-2. Then Jake Mangum hit a pinch hit RBI single to make it 3-3. The Cubs would immediately hit a solo homer to take the lead 4-3 in the 7th. Then in the 8th, Junior Caminero would hit a towering home run to tie the game at 4. Then in the 9th the Rays would take the lead on a Nick Fortes Solo home run to give the Rays the lead for good. The Rays bullpen would only allow 1 run over the last 4 innings to give the Rays the win. The Tampa Bay Rays can't get past the Chicago Cubs, losing 6-4. It started great for the Rays. Christopher Morel hit a 3 run homer in the 1st inning to give the Rays a 3-0 lead. But the Cubs would jump on starter Shane Baz in a hurry. By the 3rd inning the Rays trailed 5-3 and Baz was only able to go 2.1 IP giving up 5 runs. The Rays were able to get it to 5-4 after a Nick Fortes RBI single. But that was as close as the Rays would get. The Cubs would add a run in the bottom of the 4th and that would be the last score of the game. The Tampa Bay Rays comeback falls short, losing to the White Sox 6-5. The Rays got on the board first with a Yandy Diaz solo homer to make it 1-0 after the first inning. After stranding the bases loaded in the 2nd inning, the Rays would give up 5 runs in the 3rd which proved to be the difference. The Rays would start the comeback in the 5th. Carson Williams hit a towering homer to make it 6-2. Junior Caminero then hit his 42nd homer of the year to make it 6-4. Hunter Feduccia added a RBI single in the 6th to make it 6-5 but the Rays could not get the tying run. It was a bullpen day for the Rays today. Mason Montgomery ran into trouble in the 2nd giving up 5 of the 6 runs.
