'Beyond the uniform:' How the Royal British Veterans Enterprise in Kent is empowering veterans for the next chapter.
What happens when leaving the Armed Forces means losing more than a career?
We visit Royal British Veterans Enterprise (RBVE) to explore how one organisation is creating new opportunities for veterans through employment, housing and community.
Lisa Farmer OBE, Chief Executive of RBVE, and Steve Hammond, RBVE Ambassador and veteran, join Andrea for a powerful conversation about life after military service, the challenges some veterans face and the difference the right support and opportunities can make.
Steve shares his deeply personal journey from serving with the Welsh Guards and surviving the attack on the Sir’ Galahad during the Falklands conflict, through difficult years after leaving the Army, to finding a home, employment and community at RBVE. Today, he describes his role as an ambassador as an opportunity to give back.
They also explore RBVE’s ambitious plans for the future, including its Centenary Village, social enterprises, employment programmes and drive to tackle veteran homelessness, alongside the vital role businesses can play through partnership and social value.
A moving conversation about resilience, independence and what becomes possible when people are given the opportunity to rebuild.
🎧 Listen now to discover how RBVE is helping veterans build their next chapter.
