"To Me, My Neurospicies!" A.K.A.: Why X-Men '97 is an Amazing Allegory for Neurospiciness (among other things)!
Alright everyone - suit up and report to the Blackbird in 5; we're going on an adventure with the X-Men!
It's no secret that Becca and I are MASSIVE nerds, and the X-Men in particular have always been near and dear to both of our hearts. With the recent release (and conclusion) of season 1 of X-Men '97 on Disney+, we felt the time was right to do a deep dive into why we love these characters, how they resonate with both of us, and how the X-Men have always been a powerful allegory for those of us who are different.
So if that sounds like your cup of tea - sit back, put those headphones on, sharpen your adamantium claws, and stay tuned for another fantastic episode of The Neurodivergent Polyamorist Podcast.
...oh and also? Magneto was right. ;)
NOTE: Please forgive the audio quality in this one. I had some internet issues while we were recording, which resulted in some choppiness. I did my best to correct for it (and to re-record whole sections where it got too bad to salvage) but I couldn't eliminate all of the bugs. Sorry about that!
