Shortly after Trump’s new press secretary made news by revealing the President asked Kimberly Guilfoyle to resign her position as U.S. Ambassador to Greece, Guilfoyle kinda sorta made a resignation announcement on X. This is the first time Governor Ron DeSantis has ever canceled a planned execution in his nearly 8 years in office. While DeSantis did not officially give a reason for the stay of William Lee Thompson’s execution, an anti death penalty group describes Thompson as “gravely ill, has dementia” and requires complete assistance for basic activities. At Noon today, Florida is set to execute a man who killed his cellmate while he was sleeping to upgrade his prison accommodations. 63-year-old James “Chickenhead” Robertson bragged on a Netflix documentary that he planned and premeditated the murder of his cellmate, Frank Hart, so he could be moved to death row. 54-year-old actress Selma Blair pleaded not guilty to two counts of assault for allegedly kicking a police officer and a nurse after she was removed from a Delta flight following what’s been described as a violent incident. Blair is accused of trying to open the cabin door mid-flight, and then punching one flight attendant and biting another before she was eventually restrained.
