Who Do You Admire?

At a 3-year-olds' soccer game, one little hug stole the show. Sometimes kids remind us what matters most.

Remember those school essay prompts: “Who do you admire?” If I were writing it today, my answer would be simple... Jesus.

Your neighborhood page might have free furniture or baby clothes. Ours? A tarantula. With seven legs. And yes… someone actually wanted it. 

It’s been a heavy week. Grief, questions, even a deep ache over the brokenness of our world. But I’m holding onto this: when things feel dark, Jesus’ light shines even brighter.

A wrong number turned into new friends, lots of laughs, and even a brand new grill. Not a bad trade for a little kindness!

Sometimes I find myself lowering the standard just to keep the peace. Pleasing people might feel easier in the moment, but following Jesus means choosing His standard instead.

Sometimes helping others doesn’t look big or flashy... it just looks thoughtful. Krystyna has been living with lymphoma for 20 years, and for her birthday, she decided to do something kind for others walking the same road.

Grief and hope can live in the same heart. We hurt because loss is real, but we hope because Jesus is alive.
