Have You Lowered Your Spiritual Standards?

Remember those school essay prompts: “Who do you admire?” If I were writing it today, my answer would be simple... Jesus.

Your neighborhood page might have free furniture or baby clothes. Ours? A tarantula. With seven legs. And yes… someone actually wanted it. 

It’s been a heavy week. Grief, questions, even a deep ache over the brokenness of our world. But I’m holding onto this: when things feel dark, Jesus’ light shines even brighter.

A wrong number turned into new friends, lots of laughs, and even a brand new grill. Not a bad trade for a little kindness!

Sometimes I find myself lowering the standard just to keep the peace. Pleasing people might feel easier in the moment, but following Jesus means choosing His standard instead.
