10. Getting To Know Me. A Look Into My Creative Journey

Every one of us has crossed paths with challenges that have left us feeling shook. What do we do with those situations? How do they inform us of our deepest strengths? What if through our struggles we are actually being offered the gateway through which we can transcend and liberate ourselves from old constructs and thoughts that no longer serve us? Perhaps our challenges can offer up a perspective through which we can alchemize some of the greatest perils of our life, into one that we can renew once more, and begin again. A wise Womban embarks on a journey deep within her self. As she descends to her womb space, an energetic and informative epicenter of intrinsic wisdom and creativity is revealed to her. Through this connection back with herself, she is able to tune into teachings of her unique inner nature. It’s no wonder so many womben that embark on this journey rediscover an aspect of themselves that is a portal for healing, connection, and incredible growth in every way possible. I embarked on this journey myself back in May. Womben Wellness has been a safe space through which I learned the power of my menstrual cycle, my yoni, ancestrial wisdom and tuning into pain as a messenger, instead of something our “always on” culture has conditioned us to numb out. I learned about the incredibly intelligent body and all the ways she communicates to us; speaking loud when we cannot vocally express what we suppress. And even though I can’t describe fully in words how much my life has shifted from connecting to my womb , my body shows me in all the ways. This conversation felt like a giant exhale for me. I learned so much from Ashmi during our conversation and even before we connected on High Tide. I had so much fun having this heartfelt conversation with Lorren Rodrigues. We riff on our journeys of motherhood, her experience with parent coaching and being of service to the atypical community. There have been moments in my life that I can say with full confidence, have been divinely aligned. Often we think things are about the thing we think it’s about when really it’s far bigger than what we think it’s about 🤪 Alignment, interconnectedness, how we decide to show up for ourselves and each other, are all a part of the dance of life. After giving birth to my son, I was met with a version of myself that I longed to get to know. I struggled with birthing the mother in me along with the physical and emotional changes my body was experiencing. And as a woman, I have moments of being consumed by the all too common narrative of “am I enough?”. I began to get curious about my Self more. I craved acceptance and desired to be seen. I didn’t think to correlate it with my hormones, my narratives, or the lineage of women who’s paths have been walked before my own. The nature of a woman is one to revere. There are layers to discover, each one unveiling more gifts as a relationship with Self is cultivated. My conversation with Dr. Sonya Jensen explores these areas and so much more. It feels like a decade ago that I stumbled upon Mark Groves. He’s been someone that has been so instrumental on my growth journey. My personal journey with creativity has so far taught me a lot beyond podcasting and writing. Sometimes it’s in the gap between an idea and destination that serves to contain life’s greatest nectar. It’s also the callings we’re most afraid of that can yield us our growth. I used to think it was a risk to explore these creative urges. I’ve learnt that it’s not a risk when it’s rooted in your heart and alignment. The only thing risky about it, is not starting at all. This is my personal journey.
