What happens when being the responsible one stops being something you do and starts becoming part of who you are?
Overfunctioning can look a lot like competence:
Anticipating.
Remembering.
Reminding.
Fixing.
Smoothing things over.
Following up.
Making sure everybody has what they need.
And because people may praise you for being dependable, capable, mature, or strong, it can be difficult to recognize when responsibility has quietly become an identity.
In this episode of Confident Women Glow, Mo explores what happens when overfunctioning collides with a woman’s Circle of Becoming.
As you become more self-aware, you begin noticing what actually belongs to you.
As you trust yourself more, it becomes harder to ignore the truth that you do not want to (or don't have the capacity to) keep doing everybody else’s part.
And as you begin expressing that truth through your choices, the people and relationships around you may feel the change.
This isn't a conversation about becoming careless, selfish, or unwilling to help....we're learning the difference between being responsible and assuming responsibility.
