17-year-old Blake Chappell went missing in October 2011 after attending his homecoming dance. His body was found in a nearby creek two months later. The autopsy confirmed Blake died from a gunshot wound to the head and his death was ruled a homicide. Officials believe he was only in the water for about a week, leaving his whereabouts unknown for weeks. On September 12, 2025, Scotty Elliot Smith was arrested for Blake's murder. In the early morning hours of May 20th, 1990, 29-year-old mother of two, Susan Poupart, went to a party, was seen getting into a car with some men in Lac du Flambeau, and was never seen alive again. This case has defied resolution for 35 years. It has also cast a profound, enduring shadow over a family and entire community in Northern Wisconsin. In a quiet, gated community in Georgia, Russell and Shirley Dermond seemed to embody the perfect picture of retirement—an 88-year-old World War II veteran and his 87-year-old wife, spending their golden years on the serene shores of Lake Oconee. In July of 2015, two-year-old DeOrr Kunz Jr. vanished without a trace during a family camping trip in Idaho. For years, this case has been shrouded in mystery, swirling with unanswered questions, shifting theories, and heartbreaking dead ends, but now, over a decade later, new information has come to light. DeOrr Kunz Jr. was last seen on July 10th, 2015, near Leadore, Idaho, in Lemhi County. He has hazel eyes and, at that time, blonde hair. He was approximately 3 feet tall and weighed about 30lbs. In 1996, 13-year-old Rachel Marie Mellon-Skemp stayed home sick from school. By the end of the day, she, along with a blanket and two pillows from her bed, had vanished into the freezing Illinois winter. There were no witnesses and no trail leading to where Rachel may have gone, and the only story we have comes from the last person to see her alive. Rachel Marie Mellon-Skemp was last seen on January 31st, 1996, in Bolingbrook, Illinois. She is Asian and White with black hair and hazel eyes. At the time of her disappearance, her hair was shoulder length, she was about 5 feet tall, and weighed approximately 80lbs. She was last seen wearing a pink sweater, yellow sweatpants, and red house slippers. Anyone with information is asked to call the Bolingbrook Police Department at 630-226-8660.
