Welcome back to Tung Talk!

Shaun Goodman and Moshe Becker are back for another conversation about all things Master Tung acupuncture.

In this episode, we explore a fascinating diagnostic tool that Shaun has incorporated into his work with Master Tung’s system: the VAS (Vascular Autonomic Signal), originating from Dr. Paul Nogier’s work in auriculotherapy.

The VAS is a subtle change in the pulse that can be used as a form of feedback from the body. Shaun uses it both diagnostically and as a way of refining point location, helping him determine which acupuncture points appear most responsive at a given moment.

The connection between Master Tung acupuncture and the VAS is something Shaun has explored and developed extensively in his clinical work. In this conversation, he takes us through the fundamentals: what the VAS is, how it differs from traditional Chinese pulse diagnosis, how to begin feeling it, and how he applies it within Master Tung acupuncture.

We also discuss its potential use for selecting Dao Ma combinations, locating individual points more precisely, and complementing some of Master Tung’s traditional diagnostic approaches.

For Moshe, this is an opportunity to explore Shaun’s approach, ask questions, and dig deeper into a method that offers a very different perspective on point selection and location.

Enjoy the episode, and let us know what you think!
