Hello to our loyal listeners! Anyone still out there? It's been a minute since we dropped a new episode, but the year is 2020 and well, I think we're all living in a simulation. HA. But seriously, we're super happy to be back and making more episodes. Both of us felt during the last month we wanted to be sensitive to what's going on in our world and focus our time to listening and learning (and un-learning!) about the racial injustice in our country and the world. Please check our instagram for some resources and tools we've been using to further educate ourselves! We're so excited to bring you this week's episode with Danielle Johnson. Danielle is one of Erika's co-workers at Gable Music Ventures, and she's in the soul blues band Hoochi Coochi. Danielle joins us to discuss her experience as a black, queer woman in the music industry, her thoughts on the Black Lives Matter movement and social media's involvement, as well as debunking and confirming some stereotypes about being in a band. Listen in at Spotify or Apple Podcasts, and be sure to check out Hoochi Coochi!
