Grenzen stellen ten dienste van je relatie Het is fantastisch om te kijken of je, gegrond in je masculiene basis, je partner volledig kunt uitnodigen om helemaal te komen met haar expressie van vrouwelijkheid. Haar te ontvangen in haar wildheid, haar emotionele kleurrijkheid, haar schoonheid, haar seks. Dit kan ontzettend veel vuur en vitaliteit brengen in de relatie.Echter, dit is alleen maar gezond als het ook waar is dat jij volledig gegrond en liefdevol open blijft in het midden van die storm.Het heeft geen enkele zin om de volle expressie over je heen te laten komen als je vanbinnen eigenlijk bevriest.Wat daarvoor nodig is: je eigen grenzen kunnen voelen, benoemen en handhaven.Waarom dat lastig of spannend is?Omdat het boosheid, verdriet of teleurstelling bij de ander kan oproepen. En dat kan voelen alsof het het voortbestaan van de relatie in gevaar brengt.Maar het omgekeerde is waar.Een grens stellen is geen motie van wantrouwen — het is jezelf laten zien in wat jij nodig hebt om in de relatie te kunnen blijven.Een grens stellen is noodzakelijk wanneer een kernbehoefte niet vervuld wordt.Doe je dat niet, dan ondermijn je juist de veiligheid van de relatie.Een onvervulde kernbehoefte drukt zich uiteindelijk ergens uit — in verwijdering, in frustratie, of in een leven naast elkaar. Wat heb je nodig om je open te kunnen stellen?Grenzen geven bedding aan je relatie.Ze maken duidelijk wie je bent, wat je nodig hebt, en waar je volledig beschikbaar kunt zijn.Daarmee creëer je niet afstand —maar diepte, veiligheid en ruimte voor echt samenzijn. Meer leren over hoe voller in je relaties te verschijnen? Lama Rigdzin is a resident lama (priest) at the Tibetan Buddhist monestary Dag Shang Kaygu in the Spanish Pyrenees. She went through a rigorous ten year meditation training in Nepal to become a lama. Her experience includes an individual meditation retreat of 3 years, 3 months and 3 days, in which, for the record, she did not sleep.
