Clary asks an evil warlock for help bringing the dead back to life, Alec is sad, Jace seems emotionally stable despite trying to commit suicide last episode, Izzy has a strange relationship with some salve, and we find out Simon is a Twilight vampire.

Clary and Jace still want to make out even though they’re siblings, Aldertree proves that he’s The Absolute Worst but Magnus helps, Jocelyn is reassigned to Idris but ultimately undergoes a much bigger reassignment, and a demon loose at the Institute possesses everyone cool plus Raj.

Teenage Jace and Alec are underutilized while everyone tries to kill Jace for a crime that any sane person would reasonably believe might have been committed by the most well-known villain around, Valentine.

People try and fail to sympathize with Alec, Clary has an existential crisis, and Simon and Magnus have a bonding trip to India.

Valentine dies twice before getting shot, Jace spirals farther than we previously thought possible, a new authority from the Clave makes even Maryse look good, and no one really knows what’s going on with Jocelyn.
