In what felt like a continuation of last night's win, the New York Mets stay hot offensively to beat the San Francisco Giants, 9-0.  The Mets took advantage of some misplays in the field early to jump out to a 3-0 lead. Nolan McLean was perfect through the first five, and the New York Mets broke out with the bats in a 10-3 win over the San Francisco Giants.  Ace-type starters are supposed to be able to stop losing streaks in their tracks and that is exactly what Nolan McLean did tonight for the Mets. Perfect through the first five, McLean allowed just one hit over his 5 plus innings a work.  Offensively, it was a break out performance for the team and a bunch of individuals. A 15 hit night saw multi hit performances from Francisco Lindor, Bo Bichette, Mark Vientos, Marcus Semien and Francisco Alvarez, who had a two home-run night.  The only bad new coming out of this one was Juan Soto leaving the game with right calf-tightness after running the bases in the top of the first.  They'll look to keep this momentum rolling tomorrow night, with Clay Holmes on the mound. A trio of mental miscues doomed the New York Mets, as they were shutout for the first time this season in a 3-0 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals.  Kodai Senga got the start for the Mets tonight, and all things considered, it was a great start to his 2026 season. However, a pair of mental mistakes by Luis Robert Jr in centerfield set the stage for the Cardinals to take an early lead.  The miscues carried over to the offense, as Bo Bichette was doubled up on a line-drive Mason Winn to end the lone Mets threat offensively.  It'll be up to Freddy Peralta to try and secure the series W for the Mets tomorrow afternoon.
