Knicks basketball is back.
Jalen Brunson returned from offseason wrist surgery and looked like he hadn't missed a beat, scoring 12 points while comfortably taking contact, getting into the midrange and knocking down shots.
But James Wiseman may have created the biggest story of the Knicks' preseason opener.
Wiseman finished with eight points, five rebounds and a block in nine minutes, showing athleticism, energy, offensive rebounding and even some floor-spacing potential. CP and Alex discuss whether Wiseman has already taken the early lead over Drew Eubanks in the competition for New York's final roster spot.
Plus, Andre Drummond makes a strong first impression, Mohamed Diawara flashes his potential, OG Anunoby gets more freedom offensively, Tyler Kolek runs the second unit, and Mike Brown calls for more physicality from his defending champions.
Later, CP and Alex revisit Karl-Anthony Towns' contract comments and react to the idea that the negotiations are evidence that New York is somehow becoming the “same old Knicks.”
