When Aurora* started to believe she was a boy, her parents were told by a swathe of professionals to affirm her delusion, or she might kill herself.
For four years, the family lived in turmoil as Aurora’s serious underlying mental health problems went largely unaddressed.
Then one day, a chance encounter with a curious doctor led to a dramatic change of mind.
In this episode, Julie Bindel talks to Aurora, whose parents she met in Episode 2. Now 18, Aurora questions why she was fed the lie of the “trans child” by professionals she should have been able to trust.
