The DeLorean Cuck Chair And Other Terrible Ideas

We decided to stop guessing and actually measure what comes out of our mouths. So we ran podcast analytics on our transcript archive and pulled the most-used words across the show. The results are equal parts fascinating and humiliating: our names rank high, “calories” gets plenty of attention, and somehow “DeLorean” keeps bullying its way into the spotlight. We also dig into which episodes mention it the most, why the “bit” survives, and how a fitness podcast quietly becomes a comedy podcast without anyone filing the paperwork. From there we open the vault on our worst best ideas, including the infamous nutrition bucket, “Dave Approved” labeling, an Advent calendar with a one-in-a-million DeLorean key, and a supplement concept that literally just turns your urine red so you “feel” like something is happening. Along the way, we roast detox marketing, talk about how supplement companies imply benefits without saying anything concrete, and sketch out scams that are obviously jokes until you say them out loud with confidence. Then the conversation swerves into real-life stories from Vegas: Liam’s Ninja Warrior trip, meeting athletes and creators, the sensory overload of the Sphere, and the surreal fun of Omega Mart. We even revisit the hotel-room food experiments that should probably never be repeated, plus a growing plan to do a weird soda taste test featuring odd classics like Moxie, IRN-BRU, and the mac-and-cheese-adjacent cream soda nobody asked for.If you like long-form comedy, internet culture, fitness-adjacent chaos, and the occasional sharp point hiding inside a dumb joke, you’ll feel at home here. A hormone shift can masquerade as a heart problem, an anxiety spiral, a sleep disorder, or just “getting older,” and that confusion is exactly why we wanted this conversation. We’re joined by Snoot, a Vancouver-based VTuber with a sharp brain for data and a talent for making uncomfortable topics feel talkable, and we get brutally honest about perimenopause and menopause symptoms that most people never get warned about. We dig into the messy reality: sudden heart palpitations, 3 a.m. panic wake-ups, sweating, word loss, dryness, itchy ears, even weird one-off symptoms that seem unrelated until you look at timing around your cycle. Snoot walks us through how she connected the dots, why doctors often miss the pattern when symptoms are treated in isolation, and how a simple spreadsheet can help you advocate for yourself. We also talk hormone replacement therapy (HRT), including estrogen gel and progesterone cycling, and why “hormones” are not a niche topic but a whole-body health topic. Then we pull the camera back to the culture around bodies: testosterone in the fitness world, the risks of steroid cycles, how online body shaming works, and why women catch a different kind of cruelty. It’s the rare mix of practical women’s health education, real talk about medical systems, and enough off-the-rails banter to keep it human. If this helped you connect a few dots, subscribe, share it with a friend who needs better perimenopause info, and leave a review. We take a hard left into news and politics, using Canada’s EU chatter as a springboard to trade lanes, travel freedoms, and why U.S. policy choices can feel like they’re powered by ego and spite instead of outcomes. We also get into PFAS forever chemicals and environmental rollbacks, not as a textbook explanation but as a gut-check conversation about incentives, misinformation, and how fear sells online. If you care about media literacy, science communication, and why people keep falling for grifts, you’ll hear the frustration underneath the jokes. From there it’s back to the heart of the show: real life, weird life. We swap sleep survival tactics, talk about online friendships built through Twitch communities, and lean into the creative mantra that keeps our projects moving: ask how to make it dumber and weirder, then commit. Expect indie game tangents, Omega Mart plans, Red Green duct tape wisdom, and at least one extremely visual tape-measure moment that we absolutely use to guilt you into watching the video version. Subscribe for more, share this with a friend who loves chaotic comedy podcasts, and leave a review that tells us the dumbest idea you’ve ever followed through on. The fitness internet has a weird addiction to cruelty, and it’s messing with people who are genuinely trying to get healthier. We sit down with coach and creator James Coppola to talk about the “concern trolling” DMs, the hate comments that don’t even make sense, and why performative outrage online isn’t the same thing as punching down. We also get honest about the difference between being blunt and being a bully, and why the loudest voices often have the least useful advice. From steroid culture and unrealistic physiques to rampant body dysmorphia and photo editing, we unpack how the industry trains people to feel “not enough” no matter what they do. James shares what sustainable health coaching looks like when you’re not a 22-year-old with endless time, and why “just have discipline” ignores real constraints like injury, menopause, chronic illness, stress, and burnout. We also dig into the men-only gym trend, modesty policing, and the way social media turns everything into an outrage machine instead of a place to learn. The core takeaway is simple: long-term results come from skills and habits you can keep, not fear, shame, or 90-day transformations that teach you nothing. If you’ve been discouraged by fitness bullying or confused by nutrition misinformation, this conversation will help you reset your standards and focus on what works. If you’ve ever argued with friends about “how many sequels” a franchise really has, you already know the problem: counting is easy, defining is hard. We start with movie math and quickly realize the only way to make the question interesting is to set rules. No reboots, no recasts that reset the timeline, and no loosely connected “brand” entries. We’re chasing direct sequels with continuity, where one story actually leads into the next. That sends us through the sequel jungle: the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a sheer volume benchmark, Fast and Furious as the forever engine of family, Rocky as proof you can stretch a simple premise for years, and Land Before Time as the surprising heavyweight in pure sequel count. We also hit a fun piece of film trivia that genuinely surprised us, connecting a never made Total Recall sequel to the eventual creation of Minority Report. If you like franchise debates, narrative continuity, and pop culture rabbit holes, this one stays busy. Then the tone shifts in a way that feels very “us”: we talk about how the podcast has evolved from more structured fitness and nutrition into something that also makes room for jokes, stories, and community. The serious takeaway is real though: sustainable weight loss and a healthy lifestyle get harder when your identity becomes nothing but the goal. We get into why hobbies, creative outlets, and low pressure “friend slop” co-op games can keep you sane and consistent.Subscribe for more, share this with the friend who always wins the sequel argument, and leave a review with your pick for the longest true sequel series. I tried recreating my old McDonald’s order from my heaviest days and the number was wild: roughly 5,000 calories in what used to feel like a “normal” day of eating. But the most important part wasn’t the calorie math or the fast food breakdown. It was the reason I always bought two of everything: a real, irrational fear that I’d run out of food and the comfort would end. That’s emotional eating in plain English, and we pull the thread on how routines, familiarity, and anxiety can drive overeating more than taste ever does. From there we pivot into nutrition misinformation and food marketing, because the same brain that wants certainty also wants simple rules. We talk about influencer health claims, undisclosed partnerships, and why audiences eventually get tired of confident nonsense. We also break down misleading label language like “non-GMO turkey” and “antibiotic-free” messaging that sounds meaningful while saying almost nothing. Then we shout out clever examples of packaging makeovers that prove how easy it is to make the same product look “clean” or “healthy” with nothing but design and wording. We keep it grounded with budget-friendly healthy eating advice too: you don’t need premium stores or overpriced organic hype to eat well, hit protein goals, or support weight loss. Along the way, we take a few hilarious detours into mascot lore, measurement chaos, and other pop culture oddities that somehow make the media literacy lesson stick. Last week’s show was “the greatest podcasting that’s ever been,” and you definitely missed it, so we decided to do the only reasonable thing: make a tribute and then immediately derail it. What starts as a joke about exclusivity turns into a full-on philosophy of “equal inopportunity” where nobody gets in, everyone is equally rejected, and reclusivity becomes a lifestyle choice we pretend is a movement. From there we bounce through the weird ways pop culture rewires our brains, including the CSI effect and the fantasy that you can always “zoom and enhance” your way to the truth. We take that same skepticism and point it at modern marketing with a fake pharmaceutical ad for Reclexa, a medication that’s somehow nothing but side effects and still sounds tempting when you’re tired, overstimulated, and ready to disappear for a weekend. We also step out of the bit long enough to talk honestly about audience trust and the pressure of always being serious online. The messages you send us matter, and we don’t take them lightly, but we’re also learning that humor can be part of the medicine when life feels heavy. Then we wrap it all in fandom chaos: Star Trek doors, angry Klingon letters, and a DeLorean that gets mistaken for basically every other universe at once.If you like comedy podcasts, sharp satire, and conversations that accidentally stumble into real mental health and burnout truths, hit play. A DeLorean window that opens like a prison food slot somehow turns into one of the most honest conversations we’ve had about sustainable weight loss, running, and what actually keeps you going when motivation disappears. We’re joined by Tracy, one of Mike’s students, who shares how she’s down around 70 pounds, recently got certified as a running coach, and is training for a half marathon after dealing with serious heart issues. The headline isn’t “a perfect plan.” It’s the decision to keep showing up even when the day isn’t perfect. We talk through the mindset shift that changes everything: treating progress like a long timeline instead of a daily pass/fail test. Tracy breaks down what used to derail her, how consistency replaced the need to be flawless, and why finding movement you genuinely enjoy matters more than forcing workouts you hate. We also get into practical behavior change like starting with walking, using Couch to 5K, stacking small wins, and keeping favorite foods in moderation instead of swinging between restriction and burnout. Then we zoom out to the bigger system: why the online fitness world feels so angry, how misinformation spreads through fear, and why humor can help you keep perspective without getting sucked into the chaos. Finally, we come back to community and coaching, including the reality that progress sometimes requires a symbolic “fuck you” to old expectations and to the people who benefit from you staying the same.If you liked this one, subscribe, share it with a friend who needs a steadier approach, and leave a review so more people can find the show. People are getting sick, the internet is panicking, and somehow we end up arguing about whether “poop lettuce” can put out a fire. We start with the Cyclospora outbreak chatter and the uncomfortable truth about food safety: outbreaks are real, tracing contamination is slow, and a single headline like “false positive” doesn’t magically erase risk. If you care about public health, FDA oversight, supply chains, and why fast-moving stories get distorted online, you’ll feel the tension immediately. Then we go after a different kind of contamination: viral nutrition misinformation. You’ve seen the clips, someone sets a snack on fire, soaks bread under a faucet, or leaves an ice cream sandwich out to “prove” it doesn’t melt and suddenly the comments declare the food “not real.” We break down why those stunts are not experiments, what basic food chemistry actually explains, and how the algorithm rewards fear more than it rewards nuance. That leads us straight into supplement culture, sponsor spam, and the way overpriced programs can sell extreme calorie restriction as a miracle product.Just when things get serious, our DeLorean obsession takes the wheel. Listener photos kick off a long detour into DeLorean DMC-12 history, crash tests, collector pricing, and a harsh reality check about cup holders and that tiny sliding window. We even wander into AI “actresses,” AI slop, and the weird future where everything looks convincing until you ask one follow-up question. If you like smart comedy, media literacy, and fitness-adjacent skepticism with real stakes, hit play. Beans are cheap, filling, and weirdly controversial, and that’s exactly why we wanted bean.supporter on the show. She’s a bean recipe developer who’s built a whole online identity around getting more people to eat legumes, not by selling perfection, but by telling the truth about what works. We talk about how beans helped her through real-life health issues, why a 30-day only-beans challenge sparked her creativity, and what she learned from watching the internet react to fiber like it’s a horror movie. We get into the practical nutrition too: fiber and gut health, why many people feel better when they finally eat enough beans, and what a beans-only approach still misses from a nutrition standpoint (hello, vitamin B12 and fat-soluble vitamins). Then we go deep on recipes, including the difference between “this is a healthier dessert” and “this tastes exactly like cookie dough” and why that distinction matters if you want sustainable eating habits. You’ll also hear our takes on bean desserts that genuinely deliver, like chocolate bean cake and black bean brownies, plus savory staples that keep life simple. Finally, we zoom out to bean culture: Berkeley bean-ups in the park, the canned vs dried beans debate, and why premium beans can taste completely different from the mushy stuff that turned you off years ago. If you want budget-friendly protein, high-fiber meal ideas, and a realistic way to eat more plant-based foods without getting preached at, this one’s for you.
