Influence of the Spirit

1 Peter 4:2 NLT: And you won't spend the rest of your life chasing after evil desires, but you will be anxious to do the will of God. GNT: From now on, then, you must live the rest of your earthly lives controlled by God's will and not by human desires.

Revelation 22:9 But again he said, "No, don't worship me. I am a servant of God, just like you and your brothers the prophets, as well as all who obey what is written in this scroll. Worship God!"

Ecclesiastes 1:9 GNT: What has happened before will happen again. What has been done before will be done again. There is nothing new in the whole world. NLT: History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new.

Numbers 11:25 Then the Lord came down in the cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that was upon him, and placed the same upon the seventy elders; and it happened, when the Spirit rested upon them, that they prophesied, although they never did so again.

Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

Ecclesiastes 1:18 NKJV: For in much wisdom is much grief, And he who increases knowledge increases sorrow. GNT: The wiser you are, the more worries you have; the more you know, the more it hurts. NLT: For the greater my wisdom, the greater my grief. To increase knowledge only increases sorrow.

Isaiah 53:9 NKJV: And they made His grave with the wicked— But with the rich at His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was any deceit in His mouth. NLT: He had done no wrong, and he never deceived anyone. But he was buried like a criminal; he was put in a rich man's grave.

1 Kings 14:24 NKJV: And there were also perverted persons in the land. They did according to all the abominations of the nations which the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel. GNT: Worst of all, there were men and women who served as prostitutes at those pagan places of worship. The people of Judah practiced all the shameful things done by the people whom the Lord had driven out of the land as the Israelites advanced into the country. NLT: There were even shrine prostitutes throughout the land. The people imitated the detestable practices of the pagan nations the Lord had driven from the land ahead of the Israelites.

Isaiah 53:10 NKJV: Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand. GNT: The Lord says, “It was my will that he should suffer; his death was a sacrifice to bring forgiveness. And so he will see his descendants; he will live a long life, and through him my purpose will succeed. NLT: But it was the Lord's good plan to crush him and fill him with grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have a multitude of children, many heirs. He will enjoy a long life, and the Lord's plan will prosper in his hands.

Proverbs 10:28 NLT: The hopes of the godly result in happiness, but the expectations of the wicked are all in vain. AMP: The hope of the [uncompromisingly] righteous (the upright, in right standing with God) is gladness, but the expectation of the wicked (those who are out of harmony with God) comes to nothing.
