Welcome to Fem-Vibes, a podcast brought to you by Young Feminist Europe - an open platform that aims to amplify young feminist voices and activities across Europe. As part of Young Feminist Europe's #HerEurope campaign which aims to bridge the gap in young women's participation and representation in political spaces, particularly in the context of the upcoming EU elections, Fem-Vibes will be hosting a podcasting series that will discuss topics in and around these issues.

For Episode 3 of the #HerEurope series, we are joined by the brilliant Franziska Brantner who is the spokesperson for European Affairs of the Green Party at the German parliament. She was a MEP from 2009 - 2013, and only 29 years old when first entering the EU. She was also a young feminist activist herself and worked as an advisor to UNIFEM, and in this role was helping to set up the European Implementation Plan for the Women, Peace and Security agenda SCR 1325.

We'll be talking about her experiences as a young MEP, what the EU has done to advance gender equality in the past, and why it's important to not only defend the status quo, but to keep demanding more. She talks about the differences of being a member of the European Parliament and a member of National Parliament, and why she thinks having people in national parliaments, who know how the EU works and what impact it has, is much more needed to strengthen cross border relations and cooperation.
