In this beautifully symbolic film, the central character embodies the sleeping mind—confined by fear and conditioned by the need to please others. She has lived under the illusion of safety, believing her isolation protects her, unaware that it is a prison built by the ego’s deception.
The Holy Spirit’s plan gently unfolds through her inner call to extend, shine, and join. Each year, the rising lanterns stir something deep within her—a remembrance of the light she carries and the invitation to awaken to her true identity.
When she takes a leap of faith, the Spirit sends companions to help her face the fear of abandonment and begin to trust. Her journey mirrors our own: from fear to love, from dependency to authentic freedom.
As David shares in his commentary, the light must be shared. When we try to keep it for ourselves, we fall into the illusion that light can be used to fix darkness, rather than dissolve it through presence and extension.
This film serves as a parable—a call from the Spirit to step beyond comfort, control, and the familiar, and to listen to the heart’s true longing. The light cannot be contained.
