Katie and well-known fashion designer Peter Som chat about his leap from the fashion business to the food and his new cookbook, Family Style.

Peter grew up in a food-obsessed family in the San Francisco Bay area. He learned to cook from his mother and grandmother, both of whom inspired many of the recipes in his new book.

After attending Parsons to study fashion, Peter worked for well-known names like Bill Blass and Michael Kors, before starting his own line at the age of 29. In the fast-paced world of the fashion industry, Peter would unwind by cooking himself a delicious meal.

Peter gives tips for stocking the perfect Asian pantry and how to make an entire meal in the rice cooker (it even cooks the perfect egg!). Peter is known for his dinner parties and gives his “musts” for success.

Join Peter and Katie for a conversation that will have you craving all the comfort foods of New York City as well as many new recipes to try at home.
