Saturn ist ein echter Star: über 200 Monde und ein wunderschönes Ringsystem, hauchdünn und scharfkantig, immer eindeutig erkennbar. Aber dieses Ringsystem ist jung, nur 100 bis 400 Millionen Jahre. Wie konnte es sich spät nach der Planetenentstehung vor über 4 Milliarden Jahren formen? Was ist geschehen, das so viele Trümmerteile beim zweitgrößten Planeten des Sonnensystems zurückließ?  Es ist nicht nur das Ringsystem, dass auf eine Katastrophe bei Saturn hinweist. Der Planet selbst steht deutlich schiefer als er sollte, die Mondbahnen sind eigenartig, manche verändern sich heute noch, der kleine Hyperion will so garnicht ins Bild passen und wieso ist Titan, der größte Saturnmond, so... erdähnlich? Er hat eine eigene Atmosphäre, die dick genug ist, um Wetter zu verursachen! Damit steht er relativ alleine da, selbst Monde, die ihm beim Größe und Masse stark ähneln, sind komplett anders. Jetzt gibt es eine neue Studie, die genau diese Rätsel alle gleichzeitig lösen will. Titan dürfte in eine der größten Katastrophen seit der Planetenentstehung involviert sein. It's the king of the planets, the biggest and largest: Jupiter.  Jupiter is more massive than all the other planets combined. The light we see coming from it is actually sunlight, reflected of its large surface. Due to its relative proximity, compared to stars in the night sky, it appears very bright. Easily spotable with the naked eye and beautiful to behold in even small telescopes. The stripes, the red spot, its four large Galilean moons, ... Wo stellt man im All am besten sein Teleskop ab? Am besten eignen sich da einige der Lagrange Punkte, zum Beispiel der L1 oder der L2. Am L2 steht bereits schon das berühmte James Webb Teleskop. Aber, wieso eigentlich? Diese Punkte sind ziemlich weit weg von der Erde, mindestens 1,5 Millionen km. Das ist weit hinter der Mondbahn! Wenn etwas schief geht, wenn das Teleskop Reparaturen braucht, dann kann man dort nicht einfach mit Astronauten hinfliegen und mit einem Außeneinsatz alles retten, wie damals beim Hubble Teleskop. Das befindet sich nämlich nur im niedrigen Erdorbit. Wieso stellen wir also trotzdem unsere Satelliten und Teleskope an diesen Lagrange Punkten ab? Und wieso gibt es auf den Lagrange Punkten L4 und L5 zwar keine künstlichen, dafür aber ganze Familien natürlicher Satelliten? Und was hat es mit dem ominösen L3 und der Gegenerde auf sich?
