A 51-year-old Tennessee man with an extensive rap sheet is being held without bond after allegedly shooting and killing Kentucky State Police Trooper Hayden Phillips during a routine traffic stop on Interstate 65. In Florida, a 29-year-old mother faces four felony child neglect charges after authorities discovered she allegedly left her four young children, including a two-month-old infant, alone inside an apartment to go on a Bahamas cruise. In Pennsylvania, a 32-year-old man is facing homicide and rape charges after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman on a walking path before launching a midnight home invasion that left a pediatrician dead and his wife critically injured. Question are being raised about the owner of the Santa Monica sober living facility in which Presley Gerber died. Dr. Reza Nabavi's past personal drug history and his Resolutions Living facility are under scrutiny.   Presley died after checking himself in. A terrifying mid-air hijacking attempt was narrowly averted aboard a Flydubai flight after off-duty pilot passengers tackled a co-pilot who stabbed his colleague and sent the Boeing 737 into a 17,000-foot dive. In Los Angeles, a 19-year-old mother has been arrested on a murder charge after her four-to-six-month-old infant was found inside a dumpster and died at a local hospital. The Grand Jury report is Nolan Wells death has been released.  The jury released a  “no true bill” decision meaning there is insufficient evidence to prove probable cause for criminal charges in Nolan's death.      The report states that the position, condition, and location of Wells’ body are “consistent with drowning.” Both the state medical examiner and an independent pathologist, however found the cause and manner of death undetermined. Caleb Flynn, an American Idol wanna be learns his fate today. He was arrested tried for allegedly murdering his wife, Ashley Flynn earlier this year. Prosecutors say he fatally shot her in their home, then staged the scene to look like a home invasion. His two children were home at the time.  Ashley Flynn, 37, was shot twice in the head.   Caleb called 911 claiming an intruder had broken in. He told police the console of his truck was open and the gun kept there was missing.  Prosecutors detailed an affair Caleb had be in for the last 18 months. He met Alleigha Botner when she was an intern at  Caleb's church. Two University of Mississippi students found dead in separate location, but both have kratom nearby.  Kratom is a tropical evergreen tree, native to Southeast Asia.  It's extract act as a psychoactive substanced. A Texas man faces capital murder charges after a five-year-old girl was killed in a roadway shooting in Harris County. A Northern Virginia real estate agent was shot to death inside her home, triggering a multi-state manhunt that ended with her husband's arrest in Pennsylvania. Officials in Oxford, Mississippi, are investigating after two Ole Miss students were found dead in separate incidents where packaged Kratom was discovered. Federal authorities, including the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the FBI, have stepped in to review the controversial 2011 death of Ellen Greenberg. Federal agencies requested and subpoenaed documents and investigative records from the Philadelphia Police Department and other local entities.    Philadelphia's chief medical examiner reaffirmed the manner of death as suicide following an independent autopsy review mandated by a civil settlement, but now federal law enforcement have opened a broader inquiry into how local authorities and the medical examiner handled the investigation.  In the moments before a civil case was to get underway, the family of Ellen Greenberg and Philadelphia officials come to an agreement to reopen the death investigation of the young teacher. The settlement means that after 14 years, the  Philadelphia Medical Examiner's office will reopen and reinvestigate Greenberg's manner of death.  Ellen Greenberg was found stabbed 20 times in the head, back, neck and chest. Then her death was ruled a suicide. The attorney for the Greenberg's, Joseph Padraza, Jr says the settlement includes an agreement that the Philadelphia Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an “expeditious” review of the manner of Greenberg’s 2011 death. The settlement is reached days after Doctor Marlon Osbourne, who conducted the autopsy, as the former assistant medical examiner with the ME's office, signed a sworn verification statement in which he says he now believes Ellen's manner of death should be designated as something other than suicide. Doctor Osbourne initially ruled Ellen Greenberg's death a homicide then changed the ruling to suicide. In a public statement, Doctor Marlon Osbourne said after reviewing additional information in the Ellen Greenberg case file obtained from the Philadelphia Police Department as well as a consult with Doctor Lucy Rorke-Adams, a pediatric neuropathologist, he decided to make the change. In his verification, Osbourne writes that he is now unsure of the series of events that happened that day. He also says he doesn't know "whether the door was forced open as reported; whether Ellen's body was moved by someone else inside the apartment with her at or near the time of her death, and the findings of Lindsey Emery, M.D., from her neuropathological evaluation of Ellen's cervical segment sample."
