David Glatzel was 11 years old when he described visions of Arne Johnson killing someone. Months before anyone died. Before February 16, 1981, when Johnson stabbed Alan Bono on the lawn of a Brookfield, Connecticut boarding kennel — the first homicide in the town's 193-year history. His brother Carl was in the room the day it allegedly started. Carl saw nothing. Their parents divided — their mother believed, their father slapped David during an episode and he stopped immediately. Ed and Lorraine Warren arrived and told the family to start recording. Those cassette tapes survived more than 40 years. On them, an 11-year-old's voice is deep, guttural, screaming profanities at his mother. The Church sent priests but refused the formal exorcism. Then Arne Johnson challenged the entity to take him instead. David improved. Arne started blacking out.
