Today, the Two Mikes interviewed Mr. Ken O’Keefe, who is retired a Marine and has long been involved in campaigns against the U.S. Government’s unending parade of interventionist wars in which no genuine national security interest is at risk. In our talk, Mr. O’Keefe was especially focused on the insanity of America supporting Israel’s current murderous war against Palestine its intention to seizure their remaining territory, and its effort to complete longstanding plans for a “Greater Israel”. Mr. O’Keefe noted that, in general terms, U.S. interventionist wars have changed the values of Americans by hardening their attitudes toward tolerating unnecessary and unending wars, and making them nearly forget the hard fact that modern wars – including those of the United States – always kill far more civilians than it does the supposed military enemy. In Israel’s wars, this is especially true because its definition of victory is territorial expansion by stealing the land of the Palestinians and killing of as many of them is possible. Since 1948, U.S. presidents and the members of both houses of Congress have knowingly accepted Israel’s bloody modus operandi and assisted its accomplishment with enormous amounts of taxpayer money and endless supplies of the best U.S.-made arms. By waging these kinds of war, the U.S. Government also has wasted the lives of thousands of Americans soldiers and Marines, and have crippled many more. These wars also have troubled the minds of some our military personnel and the Veterans Administration has been consistently derelict in supplying adequate services to America’s veterans. Today, The Two Mikes were extremely fortunate to have the chance to speak with Dr. Ron Paul about the importance of maintaining liberty in America, and the increasingly desperate need to base U.S. foreign policy on non-intervention. Dr. Paul was as astonished as the Two Mikes at Secretary of Defense Austin officially directing members of the U.S. military to use lethal force against American citizens on American soil in “certain circumstances”. There are only two threats to the Biden Administration from its opponents among Americans and those come from its radical opposition to hearing the truth spoken – which Biden appears to believe is treason – and the coming presidential election. Neither provides any basis whatsoever for Austin’s order, which is nothing less than an abomination. Dr. Paul also spoke of the necessity for conservatives to better verse themselves in the meaning of liberty. On two occasions since 1960 – the Democrats’ counter-culturalism of the Vietnam era, and the war waged against American traditions, history, faith, and culture by the Democrats since the Clinton administration – the American population gradually grew to be fed up with the nonsense, depravity, power-hungriness, avarice, and criminality that was pushed in the name of “progressivism”. They elected Ronald Reagan to end the first demented era, and they now have the chance to elect Trump for a second (third?) time to end this depraved and war-mad second iteration of progressivism. Dr. Paul reminded us that the path for America’s future laid out by American founders remains as pertinent, useful, and nation-saving as when they walked the earth. Government, the Founders knew, should remain close to the people, a place where citizens can watch its actions closely and keep them on the mark. They likewise taught the irrefutable reality that oversized and arrogant central government – built by taking away the constitutional powers of state and local governments -- always will spend beyond its means, wage unnecessary wars, bankrupt the nation, limit civil rights, and generally oppress those portions of the population it hates or speaks against it and reward enormously reward those who do its bidding. Americans need to get a much stronger grasp on and love for the foundations of the United States, for the men who built the republic, and relearn to love and work to protect their own homes and localities and make them happy, secure, liberty-prone, and prosperous. In closing, Dr. Paul noted that most of the Founders – even those who eventually went to university – started off their education at the hands of their parents and the books they owned. He described it as a sort of “home schooling on steroids.” In an era where homeschooling in America is quickly growing, those doing the arduous work of home-schooling may have found the way to slow and then ultimately end the growing and potentially fatal malignancies that now emanate from all levels of the nation’s educational systems.

Today, The Two Mikes welcomed back and spoke with the renowned economist and Libertarian, Murray Sabrin. 

He also is closely connected to the splendid Mises Institute, whose “Annual Summit” will be held in Hilton Head, North Carolina, on 10-12 October 2024. 

Not surprisingly, Professor Sabrin said the U.S. government is behaving and spending as if there is no one at the wheel. He said in less than a single term the Biden administration has added $11 billion to the national debt, and shows no sign of slowing that pace during the last month of its term. 

While it is true that the November, 2024, election is yet another case of Republicans-vs-Democrats, Mr. Sabrin argued that underlying that situation is a much more important contest, one that pits liberty against the horrors of tyrannical statist authoritarianism. 

On this score, we discussed Climate Tsar John Kerry’s recent call for an end to the First Amendment, because free speech is making it “too hard to govern.” In reality, what Kerry came close to saying is that the “truth” so easily available in the alternative and social media makes it harder for governments to oppress their populations so as to pave the way for something worse than a 1984 tyranny.

We also briefly discussed the use of “Executive Orders” by the President (any president) and the Congressional delegation of its sole responsibility for declaring war to the president through the bills like “Authorization of the Use of Military Force”. The latter makes the president an uncontrollable warlord rather than the republic’s chief magistrate. 

There clearly is nothing in the Constitution that authorizes either executive orders or a delegation by the Congress of its war powers to the president. 

The last point, of course, means that none of the wars America has fought since 1945 – big or small – have been constitutional. Today, The Two Mikes spoke to historical expert A.J. Sanchez, whose field of study is the so-called ten lost tribes of Israel, which, as it turns out, are quite far from lost. 

Mr. Sanchez explained that one of the great problems with contemporary historical research is that the universities have deliberately created faculties that are poisoned by wokeism and a talent for durable deceit whenever the issue is about God and religion. 

Mr. Sanchez noted that, on average, most universities in the West have a ratio of 12 liberal/atheist professors for every 1 conservative professor. Further, in a large number of university-taught fields, the reality is that 100 percent of professors are liberal/atheists. It is only when you look at the engineering disciplines that there is a stronger percentage of conservatives, who, of course, are not writers of history. Even if they were, most Western publishers have little or no interest in publishing books dealing with religion and God, which are important issues of historical issues. Between the universities and major Western publishers, the historical data about this issue has remained well and truly buried. In his own studies, Mr. Sanchez has found that there is a large amount of evidence regarding the ten lost tribes. Both in the Middle East and Europe, he found a great many pertinent sources such as manuscripts, books – most published before 1850 – and engraved stone tablets. The short version of the story, which has been suppressed since 1850 is that the ten tribes departed what was then the northern section of contemporary Israel, moved further into the Middle East and later, from there moved into Europe, particularly into Scotland, Ireland, France, and, to a lesser extent, Spain. 

Archives in these countries contain many documents and artifacts that are pertinent to identifying the stories and ultimate locations of the so-called ten lost tribes. In essence, there is strong evidence that the ten lost tribes were the peoples who are now known as Celtic and Gaelic. The ancient Greeks, for example, called the ten tribes Celts, and the ancient Romans called them Gauls. France of course was once called Gaul and spoke Gaelic. These people share languages that – while not identical – share large numbers of words, and also share words that are present in English and in German dialects. 

The bottom line is that the ten tribes do not seem to be lost. Indeed, the ancient Jewish historian Josephus appears to have been fully accurate when he said that those ten tribes did not disappear.  The Two Mikes closed this discussion with A.J. Today, The Two Mikes welcomed back Chad Stewart, the author of the Britfield series of novels -- and soon movies -- for middle-schoolers. Mr. Stewart reported that the fourth book in his series -- titled Britfield and the Eastern Empire -- will be published in 2025, just as the lead characters -- Tom and Sarah -- reach age 15 and are learning the pros and cons of modernity as they are found in such things as AI and digital currencies. 

The first installment of seven Britfield movies also is scheduled to go into pre-production in November, 2026. Mr. Stewart noted that the movie will be set in the Christmas season. Mr. Stewart also said that the first three books in the series continue to do very well, and began to be published in Britain in June 2024. 

The books also are being translated and published in Polish; the first volume is already in book shops. Other foreign publishers are planning to publish the books in additional languages.  Mr. Stewart said that the first three volumes of the series continue to sell well and are being used by teachers in an increasing number of schools -- now numbering in the thousands -- in the United States. Just as important, Mr. Stewart said that he continues to receive letters from parents explaining how much their middle-schoolers enjoy the books and how much they learn from them. 

Often, the parents also say how much they enjoyed the books. Today, the Two Mikes again spoke with Joe Lombardi, the Founder and Managing Partner ofIron Hawk Financial about the current state of the U.S. economy. 

As all of us know, Mr. Lombardi said, things are not good economically, and he said that over the next six-to-twelve months we are all going to feel even more pain. 

The Congress’s egregious and absurd over-spending has put America in debt to the sum of $35 trillion dollars, and in terms of unfunded liabilities Americans’ face another $218 trillion. Mr. Lombardi also suggested that people refrain from viewing view Bitcoin as being “too big to fail” because it is not, it was created by the U.S.
Government and the CIA and those entities will also decide how long it lasts. And there seems no limit to the fiscal irresponsibility of the both parties in Congress. In addition, he noted that car repossessions are also up about 300-percent over the past year. 

Faced with this kind of pending economic collapse, Mr. Lombardi suggested that citizens think about investing in mutual insurance companies as a means of protecting their money. He explained that, over the past 180 years, mutual insurance companies have come through all of the wars and economic downturns without having lost money. A person’s investments in these insurance companies also are easily accessible and tax free. 

There are not a lot of options for the average person to protect their money, but this is one that is available to all Americans and ought to be considered. Today, The Two Mikes welcomed the return of Twila Brase, a distinguished, longtimeprofessional nurse and one of the county’s most articulate champions of returning control ofmedical care to the citizens of America. Ms. Brase said that all Americans are coming close tothe dead-end for the country’s current medical system; the Medicare Trust Fund, just as theSocial Security Trust Fund, is non-existent. This fact is made worse because the number ofpeople working in the United States is decreasing as the last of the massive postwar “baby-boomer generation retires”. As night follows day, fewer workers means less payroll taxes,leaving the government with a choice between higher taxes or more frequent denial oftreatment. The politicians probably will do both. The national government is now paying forboth programs directly from the payroll-tax funds paid by workers Ms. Brase said that in 2022the federal government’s Medicare plans confronted the reality that the cost of the plans was$55 billion dollars more than the funds that came in from the payroll taxes paid by Americanworkers. Recent estimates show that by 2036 the entire national medical system will go “belly-up”. For that reason, the national government’s socialist medical system already has increasedthe ability of the federal bureaucracy, the medical profession, and medical insurers to denyaccess to treatment, a money saver and death sentence for those who are denied. Today, the Two Mikes welcomed back Geoff Shepard, who is a distinguished lawyer and, a half-century ago, was the youngest lawyer working in President Nixon’s White House. In that position, he had a birds-eye view of the then unfolding “Water Gate” issue, which was capped with Nixon’s resignation on 8 August 1974. Recently, Mr. Shepard has been part of a team which has produced a new documentary that is primarily based on the three books about Nixon’s fall that Mr. Shepard has written, each of which is based on the government papers, personal diaries, and court documents that he discovered via research and FOIA requests – most of which have not previously seen the light of day. Mr. Shepard and his team have now taken all of that work and information and produced a documentary – running a bit more than an hour -- called “Watergate’s Secrets and Betrayals Orchestrating Nixon’s Demise”. It is now available on its own website, https://www.watergatesecrets.com and can be watched for free. The film details a process by which the U.S. Department of Justice, several federal judges, and many anti-Nixon lawyers and mainstream media did indeed cooperate and conspire to overthrow Nixon. There surely was a Watergate crime, this film is not denial of that fact. But the U.S. legal authorities, the NY Times, and the Newsweek and Time magazines were all virulently anti-Nixon. The DOJ hired a force of 92 people to set-up Nixon – 60 of them lawyers, 17 of whom had been DOJ lawyers under John Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson -- and they engaged in a prolonged and surreptitious anti-Nixon campaign that today would be called “lawfare”, similar to the torturous and illegal process that Trump has experienced. For example, prosecutors in the case against Nixon met secretly with judges overseeing the case and discussed how the trial should be planned and conducted. The prosecutors, for example, met ten times with Judge Sirica, the lead judge in the case. Another revealing example is the Senate’s agreement that the investigation would focus solely on Nixon’s 1972 election campaign, and would not touch anything that dealt with the 1968, 1964, and 1960 elections, the latter, of course, has long been said to have been corrupted in favor of Kennedy. Today, the Two Mikes spoke with Sheriff Richard Mack, who was a constitutional sheriff in GrahamCounty in southwestern Arizona. He also is the founder and the president of an association named theConstitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association (CSPOA, https://cspoa.org) which is holding itsannual conference in Orlando, Florida on 7 September 2024. The CSPOA’s membership includes about athousand of the republic’s constitutional sheriffs – one-third of the country’s total number -- many oftheir subordinates, and it is open for membership to all American citizens interested in its non-violenteffort to restore constitutional government to all of the United States, with a special emphasis on fullyrestoring the Bill of Rights. Sheriff Mack noted that the constitutional sheriffs swear an oath ofallegiance to the U.S. Constitution and so can act in protection of life, liberty, and the pursuit ofhappiness – the latter refers to the accumulation of personal property – and, for example, can block gunseizures, protect churches and businesses from mandated closings, as in the case of Covid, and preventthe outrageous denials of liberty we have seen against Amish farmers in Pennsylvania and other farmersaround the country. In essence, Sheriff Mack said, the maintenance of the peoples’ liberty is theconstitutional sheriffs’ sole responsibility. It also should be noted that Sheriff Mack managed to achievethe almost impossible when he launched a personal law suit that made its way to the Supreme Court –and he won! In the case of Mack-Vs-United States (1995), Mack challenged the legality of “The BradyHandgun Violence Prevention Act (Brady Bill) required ‘local chief law enforcement officers. (CLEOs) toperform background-checks on prospective handgun purchasers, until such time as the AttorneyGeneral establishes a federal system for this purpose.”(1)--the Supreme Court constructed its opinion on the old principle that state legislatures are notsubject to federal direction. The Court explained that while Congress may require the federalgovernment to regulate commerce directly, in this case by performing background-checks onapplicants for handgun ownership, the Necessary and Proper Clause does not empower it tocompel state CLEOs to fulfill its federal tasks for it - even temporarily. (2)Sheriff Mack’s argument not only won the case, but, in its decision, the Supreme Court also stuck a blowin favor of state’s rights by reasserting the constitutional fact that state legislatures are not vassals ofthe federal government. Indeed, the Founders intended the states to be a check and balance against thesteady expansion of federal power.
