Growing Up in a Slum, Magical Thinking & The Power of Dreams - Astrid Tuminez
Very few people’s lives are destined to be made into a movie… but I would put money on this real-life rags to riches story finding its way to Hollywood soon enough.
From growing up in the slums in the Philippines… to Harvard, Wall Street, Microsoft and now the first female president of Utah Valley University, Astrid Tuminez has lived and worked all over the world, speaks multiple languages and is all in all an extraordinary person.
She says “Nobody can stop you from dreaming about where you want to be, and what you want to do with your life.”
In this week’s episode Astrid and I discuss the power of the mind, magical thinking, overcoming self-doubt and feeling like an outsider.
After our recording I decided she was probably the most impressive person I’ve ever spoken to. She’s the epitome of if you can dream it, you can do it.
Thank you so much Astrid for coming on Tiger Therapy, I’m so inspired by you.
