What is misothery? Akin to misogyny, author Jim Mason has coined "misothery" as the phrase describing how we "other" animals.

Mason, a co-author with philosopher Peter Singer on "Animal Factories," has written a new edition of his 1993 classic, "An Unnatural Order--Roots of Our Destruction of Nature." Mason connects our "othering" of animals with racism, colonialism, and white supremacy in this conversation with Emil Guillermo.
