Elsewhere Novak Djokovic returned to form and secured a Top 4 finish and made the semi-finals at all the slams as well as picking up title number 100 and 101 along the way. Jannik Sinner was also banned for 3 months for anti-doping offences and was nominated in our WTF category long with the Vacherot's LL to Master's Champion run in Shanghai. There were newcomers on the block when Learner Tien became the Top 10 slayer, Fonseca won two titles and Mensik defeated Djokovic in the Miami final to announce himself on the bigs stage and we also cover the heartbreaking moments including Rune's injury and Dimitrov having to retire two sets up at Wimbledon against Jannik Sinner.Joel Kim and Chris also look back on some of the best matches of the year such as Munar vs Alcaraz and Norrie vs Jarry as well as some less positive results in the 'Biggest Fumble Category' where nominations include Jack Draper's grass season as well as ATP Worst Behaviour where Medvedev gets a mention. That’s a wrap on the ATP 2025 season! Jannik Sinner defends his ATP Finals singles title as Carlos Alcaraz does enough to secure the Year End No.1 ranking for the second time. In a dramatic final week of ATP Tour action that saw Novak Djokovic pull out at the last minute and the No.1 ranking decided it was the same result as Sinner capped a stellar season by winning once again in Turin. It was the most watched tennis match in Italian history and the historic result could only have been topped if he had sealed the No.1 ranking as well. There were strong performances from Felix Auger Aliassime and Alex de Minaur as they ended the year in the Top 10 and disappointment for Zverev and Fritz who didn’t match their previous efforts at the ATP Finals.Joel, Kim and Chris also unpack Novak Djokovic’s interview with Piers Morgan as well as Tim Henman calling for a ATP Chairman, Andrea Gaudenzi, to model the ATP season like the F1 season with rest weeks in between big events. What a dramatic day for the WTA and ATP tour as Novak Djokovic sent the ATP Finals into chaos when he both won a title and then withdrew immediately from the ATP Finals on the eve of the tournament allowing beaten finalist Lorenzo Musetti to make his first ever trip to the year ending championships on home soil in Turin. The result also means that Felix Auger Alliasime will be making his second ATP Finals appearance and will be seeking to continue his good run of form. All eyes will be on Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner as they battle it out to be the Year End World No.1 and the odds are stacked in Alcaraz’ favour with just three wins required to prevent Sinner from finishing the year on top. On the WTA Tour it was just as dramatic as the last player to qualify 2022 Wimbledon Champion Elena Rybakina defeated World Number 1 Aryna Sabalenka to take home the WTA FInals Trophy. Rybakina went undefeated at the finals beating Swiatek, Sabalenka and Anisimova as well as Pegula on her way to the title. Jannik Sinner is back at No.1 after lifting the title in Paris for the first time. He surpasses Carlos Alcaraz for at least a week as the battle to be the year end No.1 heats up ahead of the ATP Finals. Sinner overcame  Felix Auger Aliassime in the final to win his first Masters 1000 of the year but it will be a tall order if he is to retain the number 1 ranking from Alcaraz in Turin. Elsewhere the WTA Finals have kicked off and it has been full of surprises with Iga Swiatek going down to Rybakina, winning just 1 game in the final two sets. Defending Champion Coco Gauff looked out of sorts as she was defeated by friend and countrywoman Jessica Pegula in three sets after making 75 unforced errors and 17 double faults. Can she turn it around and make the semifinals? Madison Keys was eliminated after losing both of her matches and it will be a shootout between Anisimova and Swiatek to make the semis. There was joy for Victoria Mboko who won her second WTA title of the year after a difficult few months following her victory at home in Canada. Mboko will finish the year in the top 10 and will be a big name to watch in 2026.
