மனைவிக்கு Share கொடுத்தா Tax கட்டணுமா? | Block Deal என்றால் என்ன? | IPS Finance - 621
Is a PE ratio of around 20 really a warning sign, or can it be considered a normal valuation level for the Indian market? With the Nifty’s long-term valuation being closely watched by investors, we decode what a PE of 20 actually tells you—and why PE alone may not be enough to judge whether a stock is expensive or cheap. Recent market commentary has also placed the broader market PE around the 20 level.
What happens if you gift shares to your wife? Under Indian income-tax rules, shares and securities received as gifts are generally covered by the rules for specified movable property, but gifts received from a relative, including a spouse, are exempt from tax in the recipient’s hands. The subsequent income or gains from those shares can, however, have separate tax implications.
And what exactly is a Block Deal? Large transactions involving substantial quantities of shares are disclosed separately on the exchanges, giving investors a way to track significant buying or selling activity by institutional or other large participants. Recent exchange disclosures show block and bulk deals running into hundreds of crores.
In this episode of IPS Finance, we decode the PE 20 concept, the tax rules around gifting shares to your spouse, and how Block Deals work in the stock market.
