Broader Shoulders- “Let’s see what’s out there…” Remembering Patrick Stewart

Sheppy shares some memories while speaking to the profound influence of the legendary Patrick Stewart.   “You will never achieve success by insuring against failure.”

The Pitch:  Come up with a direct sequel to this ‘90s Sylvester Stallone action-comedy classic.       “…maybe one of the worst films in the entire solar system, including alien productions we've never seen…”   “…a flatworm could write a better script.”   “…In some countries – China, I believe – running (the movie) once a week on government television has lowered the birth rate to zero. If they ran it twice a week, I believe in twenty years China would be extinct.” -Sylvester Stallone

An assortment of Mini-Pitches and Scenic Rambles, as Sheppy talks Old Classics, New Treasures and Sylvester Stallone.     “You can’t turn it off!”

The Pitch:  A nail-biting, series spanning arc, as Jessica Fletcher meets her Moriarty, in a game of lies, obsession, murder and love.   Will this super-sleuth live to write another day, or will this be her final chapter?             David Tolliver-       “Send me a copy of the book when it’s finished?” Jessica Fletcher-  “I may do better. You may end up being a character.” David-                    “And what would I be? A victim, suspect, killer?” Jessica-                  “…I haven’t made up my mind yet…”   - “Lovers and Other Killers”-  Season 1, Episode 5

Hold tight! Sheppy’s going off on TV phenomenon 24…   …Pitching his own season for this pulse-pounding, double-tapping, morally dubious super-show, while also talking the life, times, films and musical triumphs of star Kiefer Sutherland.   This Podcast takes place between when you start and when you stop. Events occur in real time.     “Damn it!”

The Pitch-  "Starman 2"   This week Sheppy talks John Carpenter’s 1984 Romantic Sci-Fi Drama, Starman, while pitching a sequel to this oft-forgotten gem.       “You are at your very best when things are worst.”

Jimmy and Sheppy wag bearded chins as they debrief on 3 of this Summer's Blockbusters- The Odyssey,   Spiderman: Brand New Day  and  Masters of the Universe.   All this, plus-  The return of Ted Lasso, The finale of The Bear  ...and so much more.   "Let it rip."

Presenting a mash-up of epic proportions, as Sheppy deep-dives into that most magnificent of beasts, the TV Cross-Over…   …As well as presenting some mini-pitches he’s always longed for, but never dared to dream-   Dr Who meets Star Trek! Knight Rider Vs The A-Team! and Spidey and Hulk get it on, ’70s style!!   …All this, plus the TV Detective super-group the world never knew it needed!     “….Oh, just one more thing…”

A happy collection of musings and ramblings, as Sheppy touches briefly but tenderly on Summer Blockbusters Disclosure Day and Super Girl...   As well as leafing through an assortment of non-Fleming Bond books and shooting web all over TV shows Spider-Noir and Frasier old and new…    …All while taking time to say a very fond farewell to Television Legend James Burrows.     “What’s up, Norm?” “My nipples, it’s freezing out there.”

Look out, Jimmy and Sheppy are Pounding Pod...   Things get messy as SoG's dynamic duo Check-In, Check-Out and Check-Up on recent viewings, Summer dreams and the films of Clint Eastwood.   All this, as well as all the big questions, including but not limited to- Favourite Movie Posters, Worst Bonds, and optimal ways to eat an apple.    "Dank farrik"
