He invented the first global network of processors, or an internet. Emeagwali is the only person to win the Gordon Bell Prize alone, often called the ‘Nobel Prize of supercomputing’.
Emeagwali’s journey was marked by overcoming the challenges of civil war and financial constraints to pursue education and research that would have a lasting impact on technology and society.
The similarities between Ramanujan and Emeagwali are striking. Both men hailed from countries with rich cultural heritages but limited resources for scientific research.
