In this week's episode of the Outsmart Overeating Podcast, we explore the idea is that the beliefs you have about yourself create your weight loss results.

Maybe you can trick yourself into going to the gym or eating according to your goals once or twice, but if you don’t shift your underlying identity, then it’s hard to stick with long-term changes.

When it comes to weight loss, most people start by focusing on outcome-based goals like “I want to lose 20 pounds."

But this is a surface level, external goal.

The root of behavior change and building better habits is your identity. Each action you perform is driven by the unshakeable belief that it is possible. So if you change your identity (the type of person that you believe that you are), then it’s easier to change your actions.

Naturally, things introduces an important question: How, exactly, is your identity as a "fit & lean" person who is mostly uninterested in food formed?

This is exactly what we explore in today's episode.
