"Why You Keep Fighting the Same Battle" | Pastor Bobby Chandler | You Can't Fake This

Why do we keep fighting the same battles over and over again? You can look like you have everything together. You can know the Christian language, go to church, serve, worship—and still find yourself struggling with the same sin, temptation, anger, bitterness or addiction.Because you can't fake your way to freedom. In Acts 19, Paul enters Ephesus, a city filled with spiritual darkness, false worship and occult practices. What happens next reveals the difference between simply knowing about Jesus and actually walking in the power of the Holy Spirit. In this message, Pastor Bobby Chandler challenges us to stop fighting spiritual battles with physical strength, stop pretending we're okay, and surrender the things that continue pulling us backward. The Holy Spirit isn't an accessory to your Christian life. He's your Helper, Advocate and the Spirit of God living within you.You don't have to keep fighting the same battle alone. The sermon makes that distinction particularly clearly when Bobby says the Holy Spirit was never intended to be an “accessory” or “add on” to the Christian walk.GIVING To support this ministry and help us continue to reach people all around the world click here: https://authenticchurch.com/give GET CONNECTED Ready to check out Authentic Church in person? What do you do when something you care about is completely out of your control? You can make plans, pray, prepare, and do everything you know to do—and life can still change.Relationships change. People leave. People misunderstand you. Situations don't turn out the way you expected. But just because something changed doesn't mean God changed His mind about you.In this message from Acts 15–17, Pastor Bobby Chandler looks at the conflict between Paul and Barnabas and what happened when two godly people couldn't agree. Their relationship changed, but God's purpose continued—and eventually, restoration came. You'll learn how to handle changing relationships without bitterness, protect your heart without hating someone, stop allowing other people's responses to distract you, and give God what you cannot control. You don't have to control what happens next when you trust the One who does.God's not done yet.The relationship section is especially important because the sermon doesn't pretend every conflict gets immediately resolved. Paul and Barnabas actually separate, but both continue the mission.

It rarely starts with a huge decision. It starts with “just this once.”Compromise doesn't usually pull you away from Jesus overnight. It happens slowly—one small exception, one ignored conviction, one seemingly harmless decision at a time.In this message from Revelation 2, Pastor Curtis challenges us to recognize the compromises we tolerate before they become the things that control us. Jesus' warning to the churches at Pergamum and Thyatira shows us that what opposition from the outside cannot stop, compromise on the inside can. But this message isn't simply a warning. It's a reminder of the Gospel: when we've compromised, the answer isn't to try harder—it's to repent, return to Jesus, and remember who we are in Him. What you don't confront now can destroy you later.GIVING To support this ministry and help us continue to reach people all around the world click here: https://authenticchurch.com/give GET CONNECTED Ready to check out Authentic Church in person? What do you do when you're tired of fighting? You can be following God, doing exactly what He's called you to do, and still face opposition. In Acts 14, Paul and Barnabas experience both rejection and applause. People turn against them, crowds change their opinions, and Paul is eventually stoned and left for dead. But he gets back up.In Learning the Hard Way, Pastor Bobby Chandler teaches how difficult seasons reveal dangerous patterns, expose where we're getting our identity, and teach us to keep going when we feel knocked down. You can't control who talks about you. You can't control who praises you or who turns against you. But you can decide that no matter what happens, you're going to keep trusting God.You may get knocked down—but you're not destroyed.Don't stop the mission. The ending strongly supports that promise: Paul writes that believers can be pressed, perplexed, hunted and knocked down without being destroyed, followed by “That is why we never give up.”GIVING To support this ministry and help us continue to reach people all around the world click here: https://authenticchurch.com/give GET CONNECTED Ready to check out Authentic Church in person? How do you know if the voice you're hearing is actually God?We're surrounded by voices telling us what to believe, how to live, who we are, and what we should do. But not every voice deserves influence in your life.In Acts 13, Saul and Barnabas encounter a sorcerer who attempts to keep a governor from hearing and believing the Word of God. It's a powerful picture of the spiritual battle that happens when the wrong voice tries to fight what God is about to change. In this message, Pastor Bobby Chandler teaches us how to recognize God's voice, test what we're hearing against Scripture, guard what we allow close to us, and replace the enemy's lies with the truth of God's Word. You can't always control the voices around you—but you can decide which voice you listen to.And when the wrong voice gets loud, remember: the answer isn't a louder you. It's more of Him.The sermon specifically teaches that the closer a voice is, the greater its influence, and that while we can't control every voice around us, we can control which voices we allow to remain close.GIVING To support this ministry and help us continue to reach people all around the world click here: https://authenticchurch.com/give GET CONNECTED Ready to check out Authentic Church in person? What do you do when you watch God answer someone else's prayer while you're still waiting on yours?Acts 12 gives us one of the hardest pictures of faith in Scripture. Peter is miraculously rescued from prison—but just before that, James is killed. Why did God rescue Peter but not James? In this message, Pastor Bobby Chandler tackles the difficult question: Is God still good when He doesn't do what we prayed for? We'll discover that God's goodness isn't measured by our circumstances or outcomes. God sees the entire story when we can only see the chapter we're living in.You'll also learn how to break toxic patterns that have been passed down through generations, stop living for people's approval, and trust God even when you don't understand what He's doing.God is still good—even when you don't understand. The sermon emphasizes that God's goodness isn't determined by circumstances but by His character, and later explains that we judge God from our current “chapter” while He sees the entire story.GIVING To support this ministry and help us continue to reach people all around the world click here: https://authenticchurch.com/give GET CONNECTED Ready to check out Authentic Church in person? What do you do when God asks you to move—but you don't feel ready? In Acts 10, Peter receives a vision he doesn't understand and is told by the Holy Spirit to follow three strangers without hesitation. Peter didn't have all the answers. He didn't know what was coming next. He simply had to trust God and move by faith. In this message, Pastor Bobby Chandler reminds us that you don't have to feel ready for God to use you.God may tell you to move before He tells you how.He may ask you to step outside your comfort zone, change the way you see something, or trust Him with something completely outside your control. You may not feel ready—but God is already preparing what's next.Key Scriptures:Acts 9–10John 14:12Romans 12:2Matthew 7:16–20Isaiah 49:6Authentic Church 2010 Clement Blvd NW Hickory, NC 28601 GIVING To support this ministry and help us continue to reach people all around the world click here: https://authenticchurch.com/give GET CONNECTED Ready to check out Authentic Church in person? What do you do when God asks you to do something that doesn't make sense? In this message from Acts 9, Pastor Bobby Chandler walks through Ananias' encounter with God and shows us what faith really looks like.Faith isn't pretending you have all the answers.Faith is choosing to obey even when you don't understand. If you've ever questioned God's timing, struggled with His direction, or wondered why He allowed hardship into your life, this message will encourage you to trust Him one step at a time.Sometimes God doesn't explain everything. He simply says..."I will be with you."Key Scriptures* Acts 9* 2 Corinthians 5:7* Matthew 7:7–8* John 16:33* Proverbs 3:5–6Authentic Church 2010 Clement Blvd NW Hickory, NC 28601 GIVING To support this ministry and help us continue to reach people all around the world click here: https://authenticchurch.com/give GET CONNECTED Ready to check out Authentic Church in person? Have you ever wondered why God closed a door you desperately wanted to walk through? In this message from Acts 8–9, Pastor Bobby Chandler unpacks the dramatic conversion of Saul and reminds us that God's interruptions are often His greatest acts of love.Sometimes the very thing we're praying for would actually lead us toward destruction.God sees what we cannot see.No matter where you've been or what you've done, you are never too far gone for God's grace.Key Scriptures* Acts 8–9* Luke 15* Genesis 3* John 9Authentic Church 2010 Clement Blvd NW Hickory, NC 28601GIVING To support this ministry and help us continue to reach people all around the world click here: https://authenticchurch.com/give GET CONNECTED Ready to check out Authentic Church in person?
