Kicking-off the New Year with a very special guest Irene Iancu RDH. Irene Iancu is a Toronto-based practicing Independent Dental Hygienist who owns her own dental practice: Toothlife Studio. Her practice opened in July 2020 and, as of November 1st, celebrated 450 new patients using social media as the main focus for new patient acquisition. Irene is also a Clinical and theoretical Dental Hygiene instructor at Oxford College, Quality Assurance and Peer Mentor with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario, and International Speaker and author. Irene is also known as @Toothlife.Irene and shares tips and tricks with her 45,000 followers over 3 different accounts on social media.

Irene Iancu highly recommends using YAPI. It is a great tool for time management! She says having digital automated charts has been such a major game changer and saves so much time being completely paperless. Being able to send documents out to patients to fill out before their appointments. 2. No-Risk | No-Reward: What was your big investment of time or money in technology that paid off.
Irene is such a big fan of using a Prophy jet to clean her patient's teeth. The cost of the equipment, as she states, will help advance the practice and better you. 3. The Flop: She says she got the technology she did budget for when opening her startup. She has a few regrets wishing she would have implemented a pan x-ray from the start and possibly a 2D extraoral x-ray.
Overall she will work towards adding the technology as soon as she can to keep being at the cutting edge of tech for her patients to offer them the best care!
