Guy R. Powell shares a special firsthand recap of his mission trip to Bangladesh. This episode moves beyond a traditional discussion about Shroud history. Instead, Guy explains how the Shroud of Turin became a practical teaching resource for Christian leaders.
Across seven days, he delivered seven presentations in Bangladesh. His audiences included house-church pastors and other Christian leaders. A major theme emerged during the trip: connecting the Old Testament with the Passion of Jesus Christ.
Isaiah 53 became especially important. Guy explains how the prophecy of suffering helped create a bridge into the Gospel Passion story. A full-size Shroud display then provided a visual connection.
Participants could examine markings associated with the crown of thorns, scourging, wrists, feet, face, and pierced side. Guy also reflects on what he learned from the audiences. Their questions and interest influenced how he wants to structure future Shroud presentations. The mission reached approximately 200 house-church pastors directly.
Guy explains how those leaders may carry the message into their own congregations. The episode also looks ahead. One planned project is a full-color teaching booklet for pastors in Bangladesh. The resource would connect Old Testament passages, New Testament teaching, and the Shroud of Turin.
Future mission trips could expand the effort further. For listeners interested in the Shroud, Christian outreach, the Resurrection, or The Only Witness, this episode offers a distinctive perspective. It shows how Shroud research can move beyond discussion and become part of active teaching.
