When God DOESN’T do what we ASK

Genealogies in the Bible. Most people think they are boring to read so they pass right over them. But they are actually fascinating to see how God preserved the lineage from Adam to Abraham and then to Jesus. But in the Gospel of Matthew and Luke there are two different genealogies for Jesus seem contradictory. What is that all about?

Discouragement. We all feel it. The sickness won’t go away. The marriage is on the rocks. The kids are a disaster. So how can we stop from being discouraged? Join us today as we continue in the book of Acts.

John the Baptist. He had a ministry. He promoted Jesus before Jesus showed up. But then he was thrown in prison and beheaded. What? Join us today as we talk about the cost of following Jesus.

God can use anyone and when He needs something done He often uses the most unlikely people in the most amazing ways! Today we will see that as John the Baptist steps on the scene. This is a man who yells and is rude to the religious leaders of his day. A man who dresses like he is homeless and who eats bugs. But this is a reminder that God can use anyone -even someone like that to fulfill His purpose. Join us as we continue in Luke.

Times are changing and because of that, Pastors should be teaching the Bible. Pastors should be preparing their people to stand up amidst persecution. Pastors should be telling people what Jesus said it means to follow Him which consists of counting the cost. Taking up our cross. Seeking His Kingdom over ours.  Is that what we are hearing on Sunday mornings?
