This year marks the 50th anniversary of "Jaws," the 1975 Steven Spielberg blockbuster about a ravenous great white shark. The film packed theaters and instilled a deep, lasting fear of sharks. While many Americans are terrified of them, shark attacks are relatively rare and the species is widely misunderstood.
