The San Diego Padres took complete control in Pittsburgh, shutting out the Pirates 5-0 in a CLEAN, PROFESSIONAL performance from start to finish.   Coming off their first series win of the season and facing a Pirates team that entered on a 5-game winning streak, the Padres answered the challenge with dominant pitching, timely hitting, and strong defense.   Germán Márquez set the tone early with five scoreless innings, working efficiently and pitching out of trouble while keeping the Pirates off the board. The offense did just enough — highlighted by Jake Cronenworth’s RBI double, Nick Castellanos delivering the first run of the game, and Xander Bogaerts continuing his strong night at the plate with multiple hits and times on base.   The Padres bullpen wasn’t perfect, but it delivered when it mattered. The Padres found a way.    In a game that should have been put away early, San Diego survived missed opportunities, late-inning chaos, and relentless pressure to defeat the Red Sox 3-2 at Fenway Park.    The Padres had Boston starter Connelly Early on the ropes all night long — working deep counts, drawing walks, and putting traffic on the bases. But time and time again, they failed to deliver the big hit, finishing just 2-for-11 with runners in scoring position and leaving 9 runners on base. This has been a recurring theme early in the season, and it nearly cost them again.    Despite that, Randy Vásquez was outstanding. Pitching through constant traffic, Vásquez delivered 6 strong innings, allowing just one run while keeping his pitch count under control and saving the bullpen. It was a gritty, composed performance that gave the Padres every chance to win — even when the offense couldn’t capitalize.    The game tightened late. Boston scratched across a run in the 8th inning on soft contact and situational baseball, tying the game 2-2 and putting all the pressure back on San Diego — exactly what happens when you don’t put teams away early.    And then… the moment came. Fernando Tatis Jr., who had struck out four times earlier in the game, stepped up in the 9th inning and delivered a clutch double off Aroldis Chapman — flipping the energy completely. It was a star moment, the kind that defines games and seasons.    Moments later, Ramón Laureano came through with the biggest hit of the night — a perfectly placed RBI single to left that gave the Padres the lead. A throwing error allowed Laureano to advance to third, adding even more pressure and sealing the momentum swing.    From there, Mason Miller slammed the door. In dominant fashion, Miller struck out the side in the 9th inning, showcasing elite stuff and closing out the win with authority. No drama. No doubt. Just overpowering pitching when it mattered most.    The Padres made it harder than it needed to be — but they found a way to win. The San Diego Padres finally responded — and this one looked completely different.   After struggling offensively through the first two games of the series, the Padres broke out for 7 runs on 10 hits to take down the San Francisco Giants 7–1 at Petco Park and avoid the sweep.   Nick Pivetta set the tone early with a dominant outing, striking out 8 over 5 shutout innings while allowing just ONE hit. From there, the Padres bullpen slammed the door, finishing with 14 total strikeouts and holding the Giants to just 4 hits and 1 run.   Offensively, this was the version of the Padres we’ve been waiting for — pressure early, execution in the middle innings, and a knockout punch late.   Ramón Laureano delivered the biggest swing of the night with a two-run home run in the 8th inning, part of a 4-run frame that blew the game open. The Padres get run out of Petco Park as the Giants pile up 16 hits in a 9-3 win, and the biggest story isn’t just the loss — it’s the growing concern surrounding San Diego’s offense.   After falling behind early, the Padres showed a brief spark in the 3rd inning to cut it to 4-3.
