The New York Mets wasted a great start from Nolan McLean, as they lost the finale of this three-game series 7-1. It was a little bit of everything tonight that went wrong for the Mets. McLean was brilliant through the first six innings of work , and hit a little trouble in the 7th. That's where the problems started for the Mets. A pair of defensive miscues and a bullpen that was as sharp as usual and the D-backs were able to score seven runs late.  Also, the Mets offense continues to be missing. For the second straight time out, David Peterson struggled early as the Mets saw their win streak snapped in a 7-2 loss.  Peterson struggled with his sinker once again and gave up 5 runs over the first two innings of this one. He did settle down to retire 11 of the final 12 he faced, but the damage was already done.  The Mets offense didn't haven an answer for Ryne Nelson, who just overwhelmed them this afternoon with fastballs. They were able to put together some attempts of a rally late, but nothing really serious developed. A lone bright spot may be Bo Bichette's bat. In his first at-bat of the season, Ronny Mauricio delivered a walk-off hit and the New York Mets completed the comeback for a 4-3 win, their fourth straight. It was a cold, cold day in New York.
