Dodgers Trade Deadline: Thoughts On Cody Bellinger, Justin Turner, Yimi Garcia or Kenley Jansen

It was a blowout loss for the Dodgers on Wednesday as Gavin Stone struggled and continued the bad stretch of starting pitching for the team. Offensively, it looked like a great night in the 1st inning but then the Dodgers did nothing else after that. The one bright spot of the game came in the booth as Mookie Betts joined the crew for a few innings and provided some great insight. Freddie Freeman hit his 13th homer of the season in the first to give the Dodgers a 3-1 lead it was followed by a Teoscar Hernandez HR but that would be it for the LA Offense. Christian Walker continues to thrive on Dodger pitching in LA launching 2 long balls tonight his 16th and 17th at Dodger Stadium in his career. Gavin Stone had an off night going on 3 giving 4 runs on 7 hits as the Dodgers lose 12-4.

Down to their last out in the bottom of the 9th, the Dodgers rattled off three straight hits to walk off the DBacks in the series opener. Teoscar Hernandez got the winning hit but Will Smith and Freddie Freeman helped get it to him. It was a fun win in a back-and-forth game with Arizona. Also, Shohei Ohtani had a big game and is now officially on Triple Crown watch in the NL. Can he do it? Lastly, Bobby Miller was better but still not great. Can he find it again? The Dodgers blew two leads including a 4-3 advantage that came after a mammoth blast to center from Shohei Ohtani for his league leading 27th home run. Then in the 9th after the Diamond backs tied the game, former Dodger Joc Pederson laced one down the line for his 11th homer of the season to give the D-backs a 5-4 advantage. On to the bottom of the 9th...Gavin Lux struck out looking Shohei Ohtani struck out swinging but Will Smith clutched up doubling off of the wall and Freddie Freeman doubled him home to tie the game and the Teoscar Hernandez wasted no time singling home the game winning run for his 3rd hit and 3rd rbi of the game as the Dodgers walk it off.

With a day off for the Dodgers, the guys talked about some players that could be available at the deadline and there's a lot of former Dodgers on the list. James Paxton got off to a bad start and never recovered giving up a career high 9 runs on 12 hits. The Dodgers waved the white flag shortly after the Giants jumped out to a 9-0 advantage in the 4th. Shohei Ohtani had a very rare quite day going 0-5 with 3 K's Chris Taylor Homered to get the Dodgers on the board but it was way too little way too late. 10-4 the final

The Dodgers pitching was a concern over the weekend in San Francisco but maybe not a concern for the regular season. Tyler Glasnow and James Paxton both had terrible starts that put the bullpen in a tough spot. Is there a bigger worry about the pitching when it comes to the postseason? Crazy game! Tyler Glasnow was off from the beginning giving up 5 runs on 7 hits over just 3 inning's Shohei Ohtani's 26th homer gave the Dodgers a 2-1 lead but it wouldn't last long as the Giants scored 4 in the 3rd . LA would answer right back with 4 of their own in the 4th to take a 1 run lead. San Fran would tie it again at 6 and it would stay that way until the 10th. Both teams scored in the 10th son to the 11th where Will Smith laced a double to the gap scoring 2 igniting a 7 run rally. Dodger even the series after 14-7 win. 

Dodgers scored first in the 5th on a Gavin Lux double followed by a Will Smith rbi single. The Dodgers would fall behind on a 2-run homer from Matt Chapman off of Daniel Hudson. LA battled back in the 9th after Andy Pages lead off with his first career triple and then a Jason Heyward sac fly. The Giants would walk it off in the bottom of the 9th on a 2 -run homer from Brett Wisely.
